The spectacular bust of Jeb Bush's campaign for president so far is as much a story about Bush himself as it is about the failure of Right to Rise, the shock-and-awe super PAC that was supposed to launch him into the lead and keep him there.
Right to Rise raised $103 million in 2015 and has spent more than $65 million so far. But nine months after he got into the race, Bush has collapsed from first to a tie for worst and is now polling at less than 5 percent nationally.
There's no nice way to say this, and I'll take it back if he wins, but Bush's super PAC donors just wasted $103 million. It's only made more mind-boggling by what all of that money could have paid for instead, including the sorts of things his family has always worked for. For $103 million, the donors could have:
Bought 20 million children's books for the Barbara Bush Foundation.
Sent 22,421 4-year-olds to preschool for a year.
Covered a year's tuition for 10,624 students to go to college.
Paid for a year of anti-retroviral drug treatment for 719,424 children in Africa. Read it again - 719,424 children.

Jeb could have hired 30,000 people and rented a stadium......
Has Murphy ever had any winners? He must have, otherwise he wouldn’t get hired, but I can’t think of any. Can anybody help me on this?
I have to admit, I’ve not been this pleased with the citizens of the U.S.A. in long time as many are finally awake.

Right to Rise’s fundraising collapsed in the 2nd 6 months.
I’d compare Jeb!’s campaign to the Edsel, but that wouldn’t be fair to the Ford family. At least they spent their own money for such a spectacular failure.
Someone posted on Twitter a Right to Rise mailing done on JEB!’s behalf that must have cost $5.00 per piece. What a waste!! and SOMEONE is making yyuuuge $$ from his campaign but it is going nowhere.....
“Somebody is making huge $”. That somebody is probably Murphy because it is his last Gig.
Poor lil ol’ me could have lived in comfort on that sum for the rest of my life.
What it says is that Jeb has no notion of the value of money.
And he wants to go broke pursuing a nomination he has no chance of winning.
We don’t need or want someone like that to be our President.
For $103M they could have put Terri Schindler up in a five star hotel for the rest of her natural life.
Paid for an Obama vacation.
That’s a low, and well-deserved blow.
I applaud you for using her maiden name. Her crapbag husband didn’t even have the decency to divorce her before he shacked up with another woman while she lay starving and dehydrating to death.
If they really want to see what they bought with their $100 million, they should take a drive by Mike Murphy’s house to see how many new cars he bought and the renovations that he’s doing to it.
