Ted Cruz camp: 'Blow to Sarah Palin' if she endorses Donald Trump
Washington Times ^ | 01/19/2016 | David Sherfinski

Posted on 01/19/2016 5:27:37 AM PST by GIdget2004

A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign said Tuesday it would be a "blow" to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she endorsed businessman Donald Trump for president.

"I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who's held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion," Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said on CNN's "New Day."

“Trump is more conservative than Cruz.”

BWAHAAHAAAAAHAA

Is that before or after he snuggled up to the Clintons, Blasio, Arab Sheiks, Wall Street, and unions?

Well it would certainly almost guarantee Iowa for Trump so I wouldn’t doubt the Cruz camp would minimize it.

‘Apparently conservative means you call for open borders and make fun of people who dis you.’

According to kabar, Cruz had a change of heart and is now seeking advice from Trump’s chief immigration advisor, Senator Jeff Sessions. So, until Sessions or kabar says something about immigration differences, it’s not so easy to know who the best on immigration is at the moment.

For the life of me I can’t understand how people can even look at Drudge’s site. I just went to look for myself. That format gives me a headache and it is not easy to scan the headlines. Whatever....

-- while Ted Cruz is in everyone's minds a patriotic 100% American ... --

That is showing signs of slight weakness too. Wife being in the CFR, they being beneficiaries of GS, his mixed stance on immigration (Trump has that too, no denying it, but the two of them hold different policy positions).

IOWA and Tulsa where the stop next.both have energy Industries. Sara is an expert in that area.

Just what exactly makes Palin an energy expert? All this talk of this endorsement or that endorsement in the races is laughable. Just shows how many sheep there really are out there.

Sarah Palin’s sun has been setting in my eyes since the runup to 2012 when she strung everyone along for month after month.

If she endorses Donald Trump, it’ll sink completely beneath the horizon.

That’s just me; YMMV. I don’t dislike her, I just don’t have that much admiration and respect for her anymore.

As long as that Constitutional question remains for Ted Cruz, ...

That is the key point.

If Rafael Edward Cruz is so brilliant, why did wait until 14 months ago to renounce his Canadian citizenship?

If Rafael Edward Cruz is so brilliant, why hasn't he obtained a legal statement to put this issue to bed?

Obviously, these questions are rhetorical as the answers are quite clear...and answers that Rafael does NOT want to hear and why he has not pursued a DJ.

There is no one who believes Trump is a true conservative.
There is, however, every reason to believe he is a one man wreaking crew in bringing the destruction of the Washington Mob that consists of our over bearing and lawless self appointed rulers who were elected by us, for us.
I don’t recall any stories of Paul Tibbets being concerned if the Atomic Bomb was a conservative or not.
We are truly at that point:

-Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!
-N U T S!
-Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely.

This is a battle to restore a constitutional government. We will need a thousand Ted Cruz(s) to accomplish this.
But first, we need to take down the Axis of Evil:
-The Socialists
-The New World Order
- and the Islamic Forces that they employ.

We must use the Trump bomb, it is an ugly weapon, but it’s use is not optional.

We must use it now.

There will be collateral damage, but such is the price of Liberty.

We will have to pick up the pieces in the years that follow.

WOW...not a lot of thought (i.e.; wisdom) in that comment.

That picture and caption up on Drudge does not help Cruz.

Why is that? It encouraged me to read the article, and not knowing who to vote for since Jindal did not get traction and dropped out, enjoyed what it had to say:

"Cruz was not all Bible talk. He promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act, investigate Planned Parenthood, abolish the IRS, and defeat the Islamic State and terrorism. But he also answered questions on issues specific to the Northeast, like the heroin crisis in New Hampshire.

"I know New Hampshire in particular has been hit hard. The heroin epidemic is really ugly," he said. "This is an issue [with which] I have more than passing experience. My older sister, Miriam, died of a drug overdose."

Cruz said later that his sister's problems had a profound impact on him as a young man, as he and family members fought desperately to save her.

"She had a hard life. She made a lot of foolish decisions over and over again. She had problems with drinking and substance abuse her whole life until one morning she didn't wake up," he said.

Cruz told New Hampshire residents that his plan to curb illegal immigration would help fight the drug problem.

"One of the most important elements to dealing with the drug problem is finally securing the border," he said.

He said he would build a wall along the Mexican border... -from the post

Then it must be that the claims that Trump supports partial birth abortion are not true. Otherwise, Palin would not endorse him.

“Has the Cruz campaign even approached Sarah regarding an endorsement?”

The way they act, I would not be shocked if they thought they were entitled to it.

[Cruz may be finished in politics if he keeps this up.]

I agree and it would be a shame because he IS better than having to resort to this kind of tactic.

I have always thought that he was a good choice based on his fights against the ‘Washington Cartel’ in Congress but THAT may not mean anything if he continues down the path that ,IMO, he is being led down by his panicking advisers.

"Cruz may be finished in politics if he keeps this up."

The Cruz Campaign should have kept comments to themselves. If the Palin endorsement is only a rumor, Cruz can kiss goodbye any chance of Cruz getting Palin's endorsement. Heck, Cruz most likely will never again get Palin's endorsement. Dumb move on Cruz's part.
