They know Trump is the “art of the deal” guy and that Cruz isn’t - they’ll take their chances - play chess with Trump.
Who better to take out Cruz and clear the way for a Bush or a Christie, than Trump?
Then the Establishment will get behind their guy and go for the nomination.
ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN - all the usual suspects are giving Trump kid glove treatment and respect.

Cruz has policies they despise especially his anti Crony Capitalist policies, Trump OTOH has always been pro Crony Capitalist, a lot of his company is built on Cronyism.
