Then Trump is wrong.

To be a NBC, you MUST have TWO parents who were AMERICAN CITIZENS at said child's birth.

No Trump, sue both Cruz and Rubio and let the courts decide. Rubio’s parents weren’t citizens, he is not eligible.

I don’t think Trump thinks Rubio is worth wasting his time on.

We were taught one had to be born on American soil to be President. Was I taught wrong or has it changed?

Let’s see — the two candidates closest to him are both having their eligibility questioned by The Donald. Hmmmmm...

Can anyone explain WHY place of birth is more important than those who raised you???

Disagree with Trump on this one. It is not settled law. Rubio’s parents were not citizens when he was born, If we say that anyone born on US soil is eligible to be President, then the 300,000 anchor babies born each year to illegal aliens are also eligible to be President.

It is like deja vu all over again. Unless I am mistaken, Mr. Trump issued the same royal proclamation about Sen. Cruz's eligibility to be president way back in September, 2015.

I think that if Rubio rises in the polls, Trump might conceivably have something entirely different to say about his eligibility.

It has been said many times before, but it is true that Trump is a carnival barker who would make Phineas Taylor Barnum proud.

He’s just saying that because he wants his own kids to be able to be president someday.

Good grief, he can’t even get being a birther right.

Rubio's parents were citizens of Cuba, and legal permanent residents of the US when Young Rubio was born.

Cuba may have granted Marco Cuban citizenship, passed by the blood of his parents, just like US law does. Looking for Cuban law on that point. The parents retain their Cuban citizenship until they renounce it. Once they do, Cuba relinquishes all claim on them.

If Cuban law has a jus sanguinas component, That would make Marco a dual citizen at birth. 14th amendment "born in the US", and Cuban by operation of law.

Obama is in that boat too, according to his asserted birth circumstance to a Kenyan father.

Tribe is probably a little old for Trump to pick him for the Supreme Court, but will Tribe be advising Trump on Supreme Court nominations as well?

Not dispositive, but found this in Marco Rubio's compelling family story embellishes facts, documents show - WaPo - October 20, 2011

He [Marco] said of his parents: "They were from Cuba. They wanted to live in Cuba again. They tried to live in Cuba again, and the reality of what it was made that impossible."
I still am of a mind that their residence was in the US (that is established, in my mind), but it implies an intention to retain Cuban citizenship, which means they had no intention of acquiring US citizenship. Acquiring US citizenship extinguishes their Cuban citizenship on the spot.

Also, they would have wanted to take their US-born children with them.

If jus sanguinas is controlling or superior to jus soli as a matter of natrual law, and those who argue for Cruz say that is the way it is, that is the rule of law, applying that same rule to Rubio disqualifies him.

What Trump says now is meaningless. He previously said he had checked with lawyers and that Cruz was perfectly qualified to be President. But we see how quickly and completely Trump will flip and flop when his poll numbers are threatened. He will do exactly the same thing if Rubio threatens him.
