Yep. The fact is that Cruz was a Canadian citizen until he was 43 years old. That is not a matter of his birth situation, it was a choice. He chose to keep that citizenship until it became a public issue. If Cruz is as smart a lawyer as people say, he had to know about this issue. I have two sons who were born in Germany and were dual citizens until they were 18 and gave up their German citizenship. They did not wait until they were running for President to do it. There is nothing that I can think of which would convince me that somebody who was a citizen of another country as recently as Cruz was is qualified to be the President of the USA.

It’s not that

Born outside US with foreign dad does raise NBC questions which have never been tested believe it or not

This is precisely why birthers wanted to prove Obama was born in Kenya not Hawaii

Read constitution on Potus and NBC

THEN READ 1790 act

The only two places NBC is ever discussed

It merits a ruling

It kills me that our leading intellectual right pundits try to shout this down rather than having it settled

Where’s their integrity

I think handing out toys to exploited kids is a little different than Trump granting touch back amnesty to the adults who are knowingly breaking our laws.

Cruz went to the border to see what the situation was for himself, one of several trips to the border. One of those times was with Beck and Cruz’s purpose in being there had nothing to do with handing out toys.

Cruz’s mother conferred citizenship to Cruz at birth. Obama’s mother was barely nineteen and had not live the required number of years in the U.S. past the age of 14 to confer citizenship. That’s the technical aspect.

The other concerns was that Obama’s father was a communist, a non-citizen and he was raised as a Muslim in a foreign country.

Cruz knows he is not ‘natural born’. Thus is not eligible to hold the office of president. We owe him no Constitutional exemption. No court or act of Congress can make him ‘natural born’. Natural born is a birthright either one has it or they do not.

My dad was in the Army, stationed in Germany when I was born... I grew up thinking/believing I was not natural born... Because I was born in Germany.. I know now where I was born is not what makes one ‘natural born’ but citizen parents.

What is amazing to me the so called voters who will call for ‘original intent’ of the Constitution are demanding an exemption for Cruz...

Bumping thread 2016-01-21 14:30.

Rush 2nd hour.

Responding to a caller, he says if Cruz isn't qualified to be President he isn't qualified to be on the Supreme Court..

Further proof that he, along with Levin haven't paid the slightest attention to this issue and cannot even be troubled to read the Constitution that they pretend to be expert commenters for. His "staff" of course will not catch this error, nor will countless (C)ruzers looking for guidance from him on this.

We have to come to grips with the fact that we were duped by our A-Team of (C)onservative luminaries for many years, at least on certain issues.

(C)ruzers and other Constitutional lightweights please accept this gift of information from me, since you apparently will not ever get it from our A-Team ... there is but one FedGov office which requires a higher qualifications than all others Constitutionally. It is the one he is running for.

I do not think this is a non-issue, not to infer you intended to infer that at all.

I have stayed out of it, because I haven’t taken the time to study it. I do think this is an issue that needs to be looked at.

I do think there are some good arguments to be made on both sides.

It doesn’t please me to see this be an issue. It is very strange to me that a man 43 years of age was just learning he was a Canadian citizen.

His folks were on the voting lists there.

The Crewz have some good arguments too though.

Interesting dynamic in this election to beat all elections.

Sorry, to your point about us being informed by those who should be informing us...

I feel particularly let down by Levin who allowed a chart to be on his site that stated Trump was bad on the 2nd Amendment and some other things that were simply not true.

Two, if you count the 12th amendment.
But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Understood.

That thread bump was really just to get a Rush time marker here for future reference. I mean to delete your name from the "TO" line. LOL!

But yep, it has been a severe letdown with these guys. I will be grabbing 'Men In Black' off my shelf and re-reading it to see if I can spot any tip off that he has been faking us all along. By "faking" I mean he is not a lifelong Constitutional scholar like Alan Keyes, but more like a High School student doing a book report and crams to bone up on a subject just to get a book done.

Levin had several ultra-embarrassing displays just last week, interchanging "Naturalized" and "Natural-Born" and "Natural" and then got flustered and ( presumably ) grabbed a printout of Article II Section 1 and couldn't even read it correctly, stumbling over the grandfather clause.

I have been suggesting him for Attorney General, and he might be fit for that since the AG does not really try cases but is more like the President of the DoJ. But God forbid this guy has anything to do with a Constitutional Convention. I haven't read his Article V book, probably won't for a long time, but the sheer quantity of his errors and the magnitude of them is beyond my capacity to understand.

Rush has always gotten one thing right - that our side is conditioned to losing, brainwashed worse than Patty Hearst and can always be counted on to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The thing he missed? He was also talking about himself, and Levin. And Hannity and Beck of course.

I appreciate the comments and lean in those directions myself.

Thank you for the original post that brought these comments on. I like to read things that tell me others are seeing what I am.

The Mountie hat is kind of snarky.
I’d rather see a Calgary Stampeders jersey.
