Trump: ‘Everybody Hates Ted’ [VIDEO]
Daily Caller ^ | 01/18/2016 | Steve Guest

Posted on 01/18/2016 7:37:17 AM PST by Isara

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks on Sen. Ted Cruz, saying, “Everybody hates Ted.”

Appearing on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Monday, Trump said “it is true, he [Cruz] is very unpopular in Washington.”...

“I have to do what I have to do,” he said, referring to his attacks on Cruz. “You know, I want to make America great again. I have to get things done. When you have somebody that can’t get along with anybody in Washington, you’re not going to get deals done. I mean, you have to get deals done. We can’t always keep invoking executive orders like Obama does because he can’t get deals,” Trump argued....

“You know, here’s another guy who can’t get a deal done so he sits behind a desk signs an executive order, he gets sued and let’s see what happens in five years from now, OK? But that’s not the way do you it. You get Congress, you get them together, you get everybody together in a room, you cajole, you get along, you have dinner and you make deals. And you know everybody hates Ted. It’s a very tough thing. They all hate him for a lot of reasons, but they all hate him. And by the way he’s attacked me so when he attacks me as you know I’m a counter puncher,” Trump insisted....

"The US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has praised North Korea's despotic leader Kim Jong-un, saying the way he executes his political opponents shows "he's the boss".

-snip-

After coming to power when he was 28, Kim cemented his rule through a series of purges, including the execution of his uncle Jang Song Thaek.

"You've got to give him credit," Trump said. "How many young guys - he was like 26 or 25 when his father died - take over these tough generals, and all of a sudden - you know, it's pretty amazing when you think of it. ... "Even though it is a culture, and it's a cultural thing, he goes in, he takes over, he's the boss. It's incredible. ... "He wiped out the uncle, he wiped out this one, that one."

Thank you! We agree. Cruz is just another tree in the forest of lawyer politicians. He has accomplished nothing but grandstanding in the Senate. He also seems to be pretty good at not disclosing important personal things whereas Donald is straight upfront with the people. Cruz is just another fork tongued politician who says one thing and does another. Look at his Anti American votes!

Trump's ongoing praising of totalitarian dictators brings to mind some other confused and misguided billionaire we all know...

Ted Turner Talks Politics, Fidel Castro and Jane Fonda With O'Reilly

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

[excerpt]

O'REILLY: Fidel Castro, do you admire the man?

TURNER: Yes.

O'REILLY: Now he has murdered people. He's imprisoned people. There are political prisoners now. He won't let his people use the Internet. Nobody can use that. And you admire the guy?

TURNER: Well, I admire certain things about him. He's trained a lot of doctors, and they've got one of the best educational systems in the developing world. And you know, he's still popular with a lot of people down there. He's unpopular...

O'REILLY: But he's a killer. He's a killer. He's a guy who...

TURNER: But that has never, to my knowledge, that's never been proven. I mean...

O'REILLY: He's executed political prisoners. I mean, he enslaves people who don't see it the way he sees it. Come on. He's a dictatorship. If you admire him, then why wouldn't you admire Mussolini? I mean, what's the difference? Mussolini put people back to work. There was order. The educational system was fine. See, I'm not getting this. This is what I don't understand about it.

TURNER: Well, OK, well, if you don't see the difference between Castro and Mussolini, you know, then you know, I likened some aspects of FOX News to the Nazis, so, I mean, you know, it works both ways.

O'REILLY: But you just admitted to me that that wasn't a very good thing to do and wasn't accurate.

TURNER: Hey, listen, I didn't say I wanted to live in Cuba. And I didn't say that I was buddy buddies with Fidel Castro. I just said that I respected certain things that he's done.

O'REILLY: All right, well...

TURNER: What's wrong with that?

O'REILLY: Well, you said respect the man. And I just don't - I can't possibly see how you could do that, but...

TURNER: Of course not.

O'REILLY: Now I asked this question through one of my producers to Ms. Fonda. And I'm going to ask it to you because by reading your book, it struck me that the Vietnam experience changed you. I'm saying to myself, you know, Turner comes into the Vietnam era, conservative guy, pretty much traditional guy, it changes him.

TURNER: Yes.

O'REILLY: It changes him. And now he's a very liberal guy. So I asked Ms. Fonda, didn't it ever bother you that after all your activism and getting America out of Vietnam, which it subsequently did in the mid '70s, that 3 million human beings were slaughtered by the people that you were lionizing, the North Vietnam and the Khmer Rouge Communists who wouldn't have been slaughtered if we stayed. And their skulls were stacked on top of each other. And I never heard from you, Jane Fonda. And I never heard a word from Ted Turner about that. And that, to me, is a good question.

TURNER: You've got me. I didn't really think about it. You know, it didn't make the news very much.

O'REILLY: No, it didn't. And you had a vehicle that you could have had - the revisionist history is what I'm worried about here. I think America's a noble nation. I think we've made mistakes. I think we tried to have freedom in Vietnam for the South Vietnamese. Unfortunately, the government was corrupt. I don't think that was a venal, terrible thing to do. I think we were trying to protect people there.

Yeah, I agree. If “getting deals done” is the measure of a successful politician, then Trumpistas should love McConnell, just like their Dear Leader does.

Why don’t I hear the Dems saying they’ll make deals, if elected? Hillary and Bernie must not be planning on making deals with the R’s.

That scares me when Trump says it.

Yeah, sure. An unstable immature person built a multi billion dollar empire because he had no”smarts.” Makes a lot of sense.
What has Cruz done in the Senate other than vote away the Senate’s power to oversee and disapprove the Iran Treaty? THAT is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! What has Trump done other than voting FOR TPA which enabled TPP, ROBBING America of her SOVEREIGNTY? That is not only unconstitutional but Anti-American. He weasels around about his stand on immigration and building a wall, but still wants aliens to take America’s jobs. Cruz is not AMERICAN ENOUGH for me! He acts like another Obama.

Well said. Unfortunately common sense doesn’t mean anything to Cruz people. All they can see is their FAKE CONSERVATIVE label.

To get a somewhat objective assessment of Cruz, one could look at who he most often votes with and who he most often votes against.

Cruz most often voted on the same side as Tim Scott.

Cruz most often voted against the side that Chuck Schumer voted for.
https://www.opencongress.org/people/voting_history/412573_Ted_Cruz

Looking at Trump’s statements at the time and comparing his statements of support on major issues with the voting records of members of the Senate over the course of this administration (since he has no voting record), Trump, more or less, falls in line with Chuck Schumer.

So, who would you vote for? Tim Scott or Chuck Schumer?

The decision is a bit more clear. To me, anyway.

“Cruz started this fight when he said he wouldn’t trust Trump with nuclear weapons.”

That is a false, or, at best, very misleading version of what Cruz actually said. Speaking about both Trump and Rubio, he said being the CIC which includes responsibility for “the button” requires a certain type of judgment that Trump and Rubio may find challenging issues. Words to that effect. Its not the same at all as “I wouldn’t trust the guy with nuclear weapons”. He made a simple statement of what every candidate for president is judged by and he said those would be especially challenging questions for two candidates. All he said was that voters may have more reason to question Trump’s temperament in these matters.

What could they possibly offer him to cause him to sell out America. Nothing on earth would move him to betray America. Donald Trump is the biggest Patriot in the lineup and that should be evident to everyone.
