Apple Makes $407,000 Profit Per Employee, Walmart And Retail, $6,300: Who's The Exploiter?
Forbes ^ | December 28, 2015 | Tim Worstall

... given that Apple has the highest margins per worker in the US economy, Apple is the most oppressive employer in the country in that Marxist sense...

... the American left is at least Marxian, informed by Marx’s analysis, even if not full on Marxist. And yet they complain and whine bitterly about retail, Walmart and the rest, and delight in the coolness of the products from Apple. Yet Walmart extracts less of that surplus value from its labour force than Apple does: meaning that in that Marxist sense, Walmart is a better employer than Apple...

I didn’t realize Capitalism was considered exploitative.

How much of that goes back into the company or to shareholders?

That does not matter as Apple is headed up by one of those liberal queers. They do not exploit American workers by placing their factories here. They contribute to liberal causes and politicians. They produce products that really do not contribute to the American GDP and they keep tons of their money in other countries. Just a nasty, huge corporation run by nasty white men/queers/trannys. Who could complain????

Who cares how much a company makes? If you don’t like it, don’t buy their products. Better yet, start your own company and tell me how that goes.

All of a sudden it’s Apple’s fault for exploiting U. S. policy?

All of a sudden white/homosexual/trannys are the only people in Apple management.

And what has White got to do with this? Good grief, that’s an NAACP, Demorat, argument.

I may not like what Apple is doing in total, but it is abiding by current U. S. law, and every time I bring up the idea of bringing jobs back to the U.S., you would think I had suggested everyone get a shot of Ebola.

What a load of nonsense! Apple has more factories here than most other computer manufacturers. Look it up to see how wrong you are. Microsoft and other tech companies contribute far more to liberal causes and politicians, Apple hardly at all. Look it up to see how wrong you are. They produce a lot of products that do contribute to American GDP, many are used to keep commerce and productivity flowing in America. Look it up to see how wrong you are. The tons of money they have in other countries, they earned in other companies and paid big taxes to the host companies. Look it up to see how wrong you are. You are just full of BS and lies, or just naive as all heck. Go after Microsoft to see a nasty corporation who screws workers.

If people didn’t buy those phones, the price would drop. They are bearing the weight of their pricing.

That’s how the system works. You reinvest and come up with even better things. Who knew?

Dang that Capitalism. It sucks I tell ya. /s

Actually, my socks last longer than they keep the same IPhone.

It's pretty amazing that most of people's paychecks are spent on things without substance....tech bills, cable TV, streaming movies and music, insurance,.....

I guess you and others just cannot comprehend when you read sarcasm. FR used to have people that we did not have to lead down to the river to get a drink of water.

I find the Apple numbers credible, but think the retail numbers are much higheer than the reality of brick and mortar especially.

Okay Biff, but I honestly didn’t realize you were being sarcastic.

I don’t know you that well and so I mistook your sarcasm for something else.

I think you’ll have to agree with the comments on the forum the last few weeks, it’s rather difficult to gauge folks intent.

Like comparing donuts and have grenades.. Totally different operations.. Capitalism allows demand to be met by suppliers for goods the consumers seek and purchase regardless of use or function.

A comparison like this is flawed as are many products.. Oh vell. Caveat emptor as they say..
