Pointing out that Trump’s mother was born in Scotland is just a fact, not disparaging at all.

Trump is the nastiest person I have ever seen in politics. He’s Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and Nancy Pelosi all rolled into one.

His judgment is so bad he called Obama a Champion who was really doing a great job and who had surrounded himself with the best people. I don’t know anybody personally who was dumb enough to be fooled by Obama.

Why would I want to put someone with that kind of judgment in the White House?

There goes the VP slot.

Why do you want to sideline Cruz into the VP slot when there are fare better places for him to serve his country. He could stay in the Senate or perhaps AG or JCSC to replace Roberts should we be so lucky as to convince Mr. "It's a tax" that he should resign as there is nothing he can do to save his legacy and reputation after that one.

No, Trump will moderate in two days and eventually choose Cruz as VP, “showing how even-handed and forgiving” he is.

This is transparent show material.

“Nobody in Congress likes him” could probably be attributed to the fact Cruz doesn’t go along with the rest of them like 95 percent of the Republicans funding Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Amnesty for illegal immigrants, the influx of “Migrants” from the Middle East and the list goes on.”

The fact Cruz hasn’t demonstrated leadership that others follow is his biggest weakness as a candidate.

That he can’t eliminate his conflict of interest with Goldman Sachs by putting his wife in a blind trust eliminates him as a reform candidate.

That he can’t speak in a straight forward and simple way to ordinary people is a deficiency that would hinder a campaign against the democrat in a general election.

What disparaging comment did Cruz make about Trump’s mother?

He’s right. Cruz has a creepy Uriah Heep quality that is off-putting.

This is the very same thing that Rush warned the Donald about the last time. Question is... Will Rush now have to choose between ideology or ratings? Which side will he come down on?

The problem is that the Trump-Cruz fight might lead to Jeb rising in the polls. I think its what the Republican Establishment wants right now, I don’t want the fighting going on right now.

Exactly! We need to stop the infighting so that we don't have a repeat of '08 and '12.

So Trump goes on for months and months saying that Ted is a nice guy and that he has gotten to know Ted and that he likes him. Now, Ted is nasty and no one likes him.

You can’t come off sounding any more petty, thin skinned and personally vindictive than that. Keep on talking Trump. Keep on talking.

Well it’s true that no one likes him. This really isn’t controversial in any way. There are those who might say that he is disliked because he disagrees with The Powers That Be, which qualifies him as some sort of martyr.

However, both Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee disagree with The Powers That Be, and you hear no such comments about either of them. From anyone, at any time...this is exclusively a Cruz personality defect.

I suggest to you that Cruz will not be able to get the naming of a Post Office thru any future congress; the animosity from both sides is that bad.

Many here believe that Cruz can reverse some of Obama’s issues by sheer force of ideology, but that is not true: he needs allies. He has none.

Being the most conservative in a particular race is of no value if you are also the most obnoxious in the race.

What disparaging comment did Cruz make about Trump's mother?

I believe that Cruz implied that Trump might not be a Natural Born Citizen because Trump's mother was born in Scotland.

It's not actually disparaging, and it's not an intelligent comment about the US Constitution. I thought Cruz looked weak and desperate when he said it. But I didn't see that particular Cruz comment as a nasty comment.

Trump said no one likes him (cruz) at least a couple of weeks ago. I read it out loud and we all laughed...now everyone knows.

My support for Trump in the general was contingent on a Trump/Cruz ticket. Of course people who stand up for right have fewer friends: It's hard to follow the straight and narrow path, and easy to follow the broad, New York junior high popularity contest road to destruction.

Not really sure what's next for America, but it appears the ballot box has again failed us.

See my comment #8. This is what I read in every article that explores the question of why Cruz is not well liked. The nearly-unanimous reply is that he is self-centered and not a team player. Well, the evidence sure supports that view, and the commenters here seem to have adopted the same style.

Everybody knew a kid like this growing up, and nobody liked him/her.

Actually he was employing the reductio ad absurdum by way of illustration.
