Trump brands Cruz a 'nasty guy'

The fracas between the Republican presidential front-runners escalated Sunday as Donald Trump went after Ted Cruz's likability, calling him a "nasty guy."

"Nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said in an interview airing on ABC's "This Week."

After weeks of circling each other, the gloves came off between Cruz and Trump in Thursday's debate, as Trump questioned Cruz's birthright citizenship and Cruz attacked Trump's "New York values."

Hilarious what people will believe if it fits their agenda. You actually believe what some liberal Hollywood script writer, Hangover 2&3, says? Did you ever watch those movies?

You can’t be that stupid, so it must be intentional.

Ronald Reagan got a divorce, too.

Ronald Reagan's 1st wife divorced him because of his conservative ideology and advocacy.

So everyone likes him?

He did not get unreported loans?

He was not born in Canada?

Sorry, Cruz has millions and millions of friends. All I hear are people who are frightened of Trump. People of all political stripes. Little by little, he's pissing off people who's support he needs. I've defended him for six months. I am non-committed at this point, and like many I like what's he's done, but it getting so ridiculous he's going to have the bottom fall out because it so incredibly un-presidential. Going on these twitter spasms at this point is just indicating he can't control himself. We're a few weeks from the first votes and he needs to start acting like someone in office, not a celebrity in a pissing match with Rosie O'Donnell. It was fun early, but not so much as this stage.

I couldn't agree more. I wanted to support him because of his views on some things and love it when he makes the establishment go into spasms, but if this is the way he would act for eight years I've got serious misgivings. He's doing more to damage party unity than the GOP-e, and if this continues we are going to end up with one of the establishment candidates. I really want to see what he would be like as President, but if it's like he is acting in this campaign that's not good. Does he have a Presidential side, or will we have eight years of blustering?

That, is how you win a general election, folks.

But it won't reestablish The Massachusetts Bay Colony, which is, I think, the aim of many FReepers.

Isn’t one supposed to stay single in that case? Remarriage is adultery, right? Unless the other person dies, IIRC.

How will you feel about Trump’s “win at all cost crap” when he’s dealing with the Iranians, ISIS, Mexico, China and the feckless hacks in Congress? I’ll feel pretty dang good about it. :-)

I can't change how you pigeonhole me in your own mind, and frankly, don't care.

If it's all the same to you, I don't mind if you think I am an ogre that should not be spoken to. You can tell stories about me behind my back, I do not care.

The problem is that the Trump-Cruz fight might lead to Jeb rising in the polls. I think its what the Republican Establishment wants right now, I don’t want the fighting going on right now.

I believe you're seeing what most people are missing. Much of the divisiveness is created by MSM articles and stories, which people buy into, for the exact purpose you stated.

A poll came out this morning that now shows JEB BUSH, of all people now in 3rd place in South Carolina with 13%, 2 polling points ahead of Rubio. C'mon man!.. how can that be?

Every time the MSM gets another fool to by into their propaganda they move another step closer to their goal of putting an "establishment" candidate in position to gain the nomination.

Wrong on a number of fronts, Dana.

Trump is not conservative enough to do anything except increase government and keep its government moving in a leftward direction.

Would you like to talk about "foolish"?

"Foolish" is making winning a priority without paying attention to WHAT it is you will be winning if you win.

In my book, yes, but I’m a Catholic. Other CONSERVATIVE Protestants would disagree, and consider the case of a spouse who is abandoned as being an exception. The conservative Protestant interpretation, though, in my mind m inferior, is at least defensible. As President Reagan came from a conservative Protestant background, and their view is defensible, I find it acceptable to judge his behavior by the standards by which he lived.

On the other hand, it is difficult to find any justification, biblical or otherwise, for trump.

Yes, because we need more “go-along-to-get-along” types in DC. It has worked SO well for the GOP.

Geeze.

That is a twisted view of what is plainly stated in the scriptures, but politics is a nasty business, so sometimes allowances must be made.

"Nobody in Congress likes him."

Great! If I were Cruz I'd put that in a campaign commercial. If I wasn't already supporting him, that would do it.

It’s a hit piece, and the troll craig livingstone, is being paid to push it. The only question is whether the troll, craig livingstone, is paid by trump or hitlery. I’ve heard that trump pays it’s trolls real good - like $4 - $5 per hour, like the 150 illegal Polish immigrants it paid off the books working on the trump Tower site.

No kidding.

"If you aren't getting a creepy totalitarian vibe from Donald Trump by now, then you aren't paying attention. Here he is on This Week with George Stephanopolous saying that Ted Cruz is "nasty guy" - but more than saying that Cruz is a "nasty guy," he is claiming that he always knew Ted Cruz was a "nasty guy." Bizarrely, he also claims that the fact that Ted Cruz is disliked by Republicans in Congress is evidence that Cruz is bad news. Who knew that Donald Trump was such a fan of Mitch McConnell?" Source
