The evidence is overwhelming that the United States had several rescue teams ready to go during the 2012 Benghazi attacks, but someone -- possibly the president himself -- prevented them from acting. So said Emmy Award-winning journalist Sharyl Attkisson to talk show host Steve Malzberg in an interview on Wednesday.
This week on her show, "Full Measure," Attkisson looked into the aborted rescue mission in an in-depth two-part report, "Rescue Interrupted," which you can watch here and here. She spoke with a Green Beret commander who told her that there were actually Special Forces on their way to Benghazi who were turned back.

Possibly because he was worried about another Blackhawk Down situation where it blows up into a huge fight and loss of US lives. . .and his state of denial didn’t permit him to feel the situation was already out of control and Americans were being killed, and besides, if we keep it low profile maybe nothing will come of it. . .with MSM collaboration, of course. He wanted to keep it under-wraps because the election was coming up.

She probably already has, but she should worry more about the fact that someone might make her take a dirt nap. That's what she needs to fear.
They would have had orders to circle on standby, or something similar, while awaiting cross border authority, but they would have needed a positive order to proceed. It's hard to cover for invading a country you never had permission to enter.
They may also have assumed that another team received the go order. Everyone in uniform knows that Obama is the most evil person ever to set foot in our White House, but even by his standards this was reprehensible. Obama gets away a lot of damage because no one believes he would really go that far. He keeps doing it, and it still surprises me.

We need to talk about Benghazi with the equivalency of LBJ and the USS Liberty. I’ve said this before on FR that Benghazi was a redo of similar actions by political hacks usurping the urgent needs of servicemen etc because of external politics. You and I would like to think military commanders would say something like “Say again, you were broken and stupid” and press. Not the case. Who’s to know if this is a situation where you are being called back wrongly or the situation is resolved and under control?
The guys in the field take their orders from the NCA and Gen Hamm passed the denial from the NCA and they had to act on that order. The troops in the field are prepping while en-route and they aren’t on-scene and as far as they know, if called off, the situation is now under control. It is not unusual to have the mission called off while en-route.
After they got away with Fast and Furious, 300+ Mexicans murdered ON PURPOSE via an ATF gun-running program, they knew they could do ANYTHING.

Probably true. My bet on what happened is that Obama and Hillary both disappeared so they would not have to make any critical decisions they might later be held accountable for. There was a campaign to win and there were too many possible bad outcomes to Benghazi. So, they just disappeared and concocted their lies after the situation ended badly.
I read somewhere on internet that Obama/Kerry called Iran advising them that a disabled boat was out there asking them to assist. Then another internet story (different source) that Kerry himself contacted Iran saying their helping rescue the boats would look good or both countries.
Fear that the rescue team members MIGHT BE SHOCKED TO DISCOVER THAT 0DUNGA WAS ARMING TERRORISTS THRU LIBYA?
If true, that will go down in history as the most serious dereliction of duty in the history of the United States.

Obama doesn’t have to call off the rescue en-route, that is the entire point of CBA. No CBA, no crossing of national boundaries. Please read the above links I posted about CBA, including my discussion with Ken Timmerman in the FPM piece.
