Immigration isn’t an automatic right, and shouldn’t be seen as such. The only people who should be admitted as permanent residents are people who have something to offer the country, who can be assimilated into the culture of the country. The only people who should be granted citizenship are people who admire the culture of the country, and want to be part of it. It is not a mere legality and should never be debased into a mere legality.
Opening your country to people who will not assimilate, who do not love you, and will wall themselves into ghettos is a recipe for national suicide. It is a guarantee of violence down the road.
