If there’s one thing we learned from his 2010 Senate race, it’s that you can take anything Rubio says about immigration to the bank. Word is bond.

This ad is a sort of revenge on border hawks, I think, for using the word “amnesty” so prodigally in criticizing immigration plans they don’t like. There are at least four different definitions. Rubio’s taking advantage of that to insist that his presidency will be 100 percent amnesty-free, which is true if you define the term in its narrowest sense, as a no-strings-attached grant of legal residency to illegals.

I have no problem with amnesty so long as it is defined as a reasonable period (say 6-12 months) to give illegals a chance to self-deport and not hold their illegal entry and residence against them should they apply to come here legally in the future.

In fact, that's a type of amnesty that I could go for.

Agreed, but they gain absolutely no benefit by doing so. By calling it amnesty (the carrot) prior to a crackdown via our existing laws (the stick), then it becomes far more attractive.

I just saw an ad depicting Rubio as a weather vane, swinging back and forth on amnesty, the punch line comes at the end when they say Jeb Bush is consistent and steady.

Rubio is a lying weasel and should be banished to the political hinterlands.

Yeb! is consistently on the side of illegal aliens and their employers and should be shunned for that reason.
