OH, whatever R wins, Trump/Cruz/Rubio/Kasich (j/k), would quickly fire the current, Obama-appointed U.S. Attorneys. The other 9,907 or so is another story. But, as you say, a good start.
The 9,907 includes a large % who go to DOJ simply to gain experience and expertise in a given area of the law. They then move to the private sector and make money. So the turnover is fairly decent. That would allow the R-appointed U.S. Attorneys, and top people at DOJ under a new AG to hire a different sort of attorneys.
