Reading the comments online at the news sites, even non-white Houstonians are upset by this. Their school’s name and identity are being changed and they see it as a part of their own history disappearing.

Durka Durka Mohammed Jihad High School or Kanye West High. You know that’s really what this BS is about in the long run. They left wants to scrap all things that even sound remotely white as part of their takeover scheme.

HISD actually removed the “Albert Sidney” from the Johnston school name some time ago, as they did with the “Robert E.” for Lee.
They dropped the Battle Flag from Lee and Westbury 10-15 years ago, and changed Westbury’s mascot from the Rebels to the Huskies(!?) last year.
RE Lee HS has been ~95% minority for quite some time, btw, as has Westbury.
Odd that Johnston escaped the axe while Lee did not. Probably because few know who ASJ was.
Rename every school and building named after a Jim Crow Dixiecrat Democrat too. They were far worse than any Confederate general.
It becomes very apparent that we are following the communist credo when we rename landmarks and public places to appease the minority.
Never, in my life did I ever expect to see the ERASURE OF HISTORY in this country on such a blatant scale.
Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it and that is being clearly shown here at home due to Political Correctness. We are repeating the early days of Russia’s transition to Stalinist rule...and the millennials love it!

In many Schools in Houston ISD, White children are not safe.
They are assaulted and intimidated regularly, but that is not the horrific part.
The horrific part is that staff and faculty will not raise a finger to protect the white students. They are either afraid to act, or they actually identify with the nonwhite perpetrators.
I must pay thousands of MORE $$$$ to send my child to a private school. Why? Because I do not want her to be assaulted or raped by savages.
