I was wondering what the distance to shore is in that area. It looks narrow, so the “lost at sea” thing is ridiculous as they would have had visual landmarks and really would not have needed electronic equipment to navigate. Another thing, iran is saying both vessels lost their navigational equipment, which seems almost impossible unless they were both intentionally jammed. Even at that, ten sailors and no one has the ability to manually dead reckon or chart a route the old fashioned way? Plus, there had to be alarms notifying them in advance that they were approaching Iranian water. I would also assume these vessels each had two engines, and could have operated on one, so they lost both?

Yes, lost at sea is ridiculous. If that is the state of our Navy that they are lost at sea in the Persian Gulf God help us all.
