Tom DeLay: Cruz Has Problem on Citizenship Issue
NewsMax ^ | 01/13/2016 | NewsMax

Posted on 01/14/2016 6:00:17 AM PST by Greetings_Puny_Humans

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that Ted Cruz might ultimately "end up in the courts" on the question of his citizenship and how it might affect his presidential campaign. "I've had this problem ever since Cruz announced," DeLay, the five-term Texas Republican who served from 2003 to 2005, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview.

"There is a difference between the definition of natural born and naturalization — and it has not been settled by any branch of government. "Cruz needs to address this in some way because it is a cloud right now in Iowa," DeLay said. [...]

DeLay, however, told Malzberg that the "most expedient" way for Cruz to settle any questions is to work through the courts. "You can't do anything through Congress," he said. "Congress isn't going to pass any bill to protect him — and I'm sure [President Barack] Obama wouldn’t sign anything. "He's going to the courts if he's the nominee. The Democrats will use every avenue available to them.

"They sued me over a valid issue," DeLay said, referring to a 2006 lawsuit brought by Democrats after he dropped his re-election bid. "They'll sue him. "He'll end up in the courts one way or another."

even though a person had never set foot in the United States his whole life a 50 year old could move to the USA for 14 years and still run for President at age 64 because his mother was born here 80 years before,, is this a great country or what?

This scenario is what is setting up.

Prince Hamzah bin Hussein attended Harvard. He has part of his residency requirement established. There was an issue over Herbert Hoover’s residency but it was never legally challenged. Do you need consecutive years?

There are some in Jordan that want him to rise to power. It was his Father’s dying wish but it so far looks like it will be thwarted.

Let’s say Prince Hamzah bin Hussein who claims to be in the family lineage of the Great Prophet says screw my 1/2 brother...I will become President of the US.

IF no one can find the paperwork that shows Queen Noor formally renounced her citizenship before the Prince was born..he is now eligible to run for President..if Cruz can.

You think US won’t elect an Arab Prince?
HA
I wouldn’t bet on it after seeing Obama put in power and Clinton being allowed to run with all of her legal drama.

There is a claim that Prince Albert renounced his citizenship when he was 21. What if he hasn’t?

Another one that could run IF he still has his dual citizenship.

Thank you for providing the reference. This is so simple to understand, and absolutely necessary for the preservation of integrity within the office of POTUS.

"The purpose of Article II, section 1, paragraph 5 was to guarantee full and unquestionable unencumbered allegiance to the United States by any and every POTUS. a non citizen parent would not be consistent with that intent. you could not convince me that a child born of an alien parent would have full, unquestionable, unencumbered allegiance to this country. I have seen to many hyphenated Americans waving the flags of their fathers in the streets of America to ever accept such a notion."

Heheheh. But on paper, I'm right. If the ultimate constitutional test is "loyalty" based on citizenship, the class of naturalized citizen is superior to the class of native-born, because the naturalized ones must take an oath and renounce all other allegiance.

Cruz only became a US citizen after he received official recognition by the government.

Laughable. Assuming you were born inside the US, would you then stipulate that you became a citizen only after official recognition of your arrival (with the issuance of a birth certificate)? After all, you could not prove your citizenship absent that document, which takes at least hours and usually days to prepare, running the bureaucratic gauntlet.

Bringing in a foreign born king to satisfy a political and religious requirement, King William of Orange because he was Protestant and married to the daughter of Charles II, and the German Hanoverian dynasty (George III anyone?) were recent history for the founders. And some people were all for establishing an American constitutional hereditary monarchy as the most successful model of government existing at that time. Later in the 19th century Mexico had to overthrow just such a transplanted monarch, Maximillian of Austria. So it was not a ridiculous notion.

FYI
n a campaign interview during his freshman senate race

Must read! [snip]http://www.newswithviews.com/JBWilliams/williams300.htm

“Interviewer: “What is your understanding of how one becomes a natural born Citizen?”
Cruz: “Two citizen parents and born on the soil.”
Interviewer: “Not exactly, but as I don’t have enough time to fully explain how one does become an natural born Citizen, based on your understanding, would you agree that Barack Obama is ineligible to be POTUS?”
Cruz: “I would agree.””
Interviewer: “So when we get you elected, will you expose him for the usurping fraud he is?”
Cruz: “No, my main focus will be on repealing Obamacare.”
Interviewer: “But Mr. Cruz, if he is exposed as the usurping fraud he is, everything he has done will become null and void. Everything!”
Interviewer: “At that point, Cruz reiterated his main concern, so it was obvious the conversation was over as far as Cruz was concerned. [snip]

The deadline for getting your name on the ballot for the PRIMARIES has already passed in most states. The ballots have to be printed in time for military and other absentee ballots to be mailed. The deadline to request an absentee ballot in most states is some date specific in February, March and April. So if someone wishes to challenge Cruze’s eligibility to be on the ballot it will have to he done very soon.

Filing suit after Cruze is nominated would be a lot more complicated. Just getting a court to agree you have standing could take years.

Exhibit One: Barack Hussein Obama.

“The child of a female US soldier stationed in Germany married to a German citizen is eligible.”

If the child was born in a US base, a US birth certificate was issued and the child is eligible.

This is really not rocket science. Natural born citizens are citizens who have a US birth certificate. All others had to petition for citizenship in one way or another.

I have no other allegiance to renounce. Have you ever noticed how conflicted hyphenated Americans are? Their allegiance is not unencumbered. Some of them are even NBCs and they still harbor varying degrees of conflict in their hearts. There is no conflict in my heart, I assure you. My ancestors hail from England I am told. You will never see me running around waving the union jack.

I blame Obama and the democrats for this conflict incidentally. They have gone to great lengths to hyphenate as many Americans as they can, to balkanize us. see my tag line in fact.

The REAL political fight in America today is between those who want to continue to move us further away from the laws of nature and nature’s God and the requirements of the U.S. Constitution and those who are trying to move us back to the laws of nature and nature’s God and the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.

This is why the Cruz constitutional qualifications controversy is so vitally important.

It your citizenship derives from the provisions of the immigration and naturalization statutes, it doesn’t derive from nature. You can be a citizen naturalized by statute or you can be natural born. You cannot be both.

And the Cruz candidacy now has millions of people who say they are moral conservatives and constitutionalists trying to talk us into moving further away from natural law and the Constitution.

This is one of the horrible first fruits, the terrible tragedies, of the 2016 election campaign.
