Obama The Spendthrift

As a senator, Barack Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling in 2006.

At the beginning of 2006 the national debt was about $8 trillion and 60% of GDP.

At the beginmning of 2009 when Obama took office as president the national debt was about $10 trillion and 67% of GDP.

Today the national debt is $18.9 trillion and 104% of GDP.
(It is 128% of the 2006 GDP)
