I’m inclined to agree with your analogy. Article V makes amending the Constitution an extremely difficult process as the Founders intended, shielding it from the whims & caprices of a dictatorially minded head of state.
The Second Amendment is one of the Bill of Rights, rights which preexist any document, and cannot be rendered moot by legislation or decree.
