When sports teams are behind they often resort to playing styles they're not strong in in an attempt to bring new energy to the game. Because that style is not their strength they very often lose.
The other coaches see this and know the other team is getting desperate. That's when they go for the kill.

The core of Jeb's problem is that he has no coherent explanation as to how he and his policies would meet the country's needs. Jeb has no compelling and timely ideas to offer, nor does he have a notable record of leadership and accomplishment.
Now, for lack of anything better to offer, Jeb talks of being the father of a drug addict as a qualification for the Presidency. Yet as crazy as this election cycle has been, I do not think that Republicans are going to turn their nomination contest into a pity party. Sensing impending defeat and humiliation, Jeb is simply feeling sorry for himself.

Between this and the turtles in his pocket, he seems quite - in need of therapy.

It’s amazing that the Bush team is blind to the fact that around half the electorate has always despised them and all but a few of the other half, the part that got them elected in 1988, 2000, and 2004 want them to just shut up and go away. Apparently a solid “f#@& you” in the form of some primary election results will be necessary to get them to leave.

He does become animated at least about not losing the NWO establishment surrender of the USA to a President Cruz or Trump,
And because democrats are doing this surrender at lightning speed vs his own low energy turtle like plod, that when he loses to his dear sister Hillary that would all be perfectly acceptable to him,

Desperation is overcoming the Bush campaign.
