Chuck Todd: ‘I Think One Guy that Can Stop Trump Is Cruz’
Gambian (via MSNBC) ^ | 1/9/16 | Staff

SCARBOROUGH:... So what's your scenario for an outside scenario for how trump gets stopped at this point?

TODD: I think it's Cruz. I think it's Cruz winning Iowa and somehow, the establishment never coalescing in new Hampshire and allowing maybe Cruz or Trump to be basically neck and neck in New Hampshire but especially if Cruz, I think it's very possible Cruz over-performs in New Hampshire than what people expect because of the fact there's so many candidates fighting for the moderate wing of that electorate it's going to leave Cruz by himself with the Liberals and the smaller group of evangelicals and somehow Cruz taps into the Evangelical support. I think one guy that can stop trump is Cruz.

Trump should take NH. But Cruz should make up some substantial ground after he wins in Iowa.

Care to put your money where your mouth is? I'll wager $25 (put directly into FR fund drive) that Cruz does not win Iowa. The loser will post a message and then immediately make the donation under the name or a note making it obvious where the donation came form. Is it a bet?

"The MSM is working overtime to protect Cruz, who normally is someone they would hate the most. It appears to me the MSM is protecting Cruz now to tear him down later."

I'm glad I'm not the only one that notices the odd lack of attack stories from the left. They have almost gone almost 100% radio silent specifically because they want to give him a bit of an assist against Trump.

If they can get him across the finish line, it will be hurricane season.

“And judging from all of the wagons that need to be circled around him at the first sign of trouble”

Mystifies me. Anyone can say anything about anybody, but just let someone say something about Cruz, and Limbaugh and Levin almost stroke out. Evidently, Cruz needs help carrying his own water. I can’t remember a race where one particular candidate is elevated beyond a hint of criticism.

Now, ask yourself who Cruz would appoint.

We don't ask because we already know, Cruz would appoint whoever the GOPe, CFG or GS told him to appoint.

You’ll have to email Limbaugh and Todd and ask for their sources in the campaigns. I’m sure they’ll share it with you..

Wow, that's so lame -

Wednesday, January 6 - New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary PPP (D)

Trump 29, Rubio 15, Cruz 10, Christie 11, Kasich 11, Bush 10, Carson 4, Fiorina 4, Paul 3, Huckabee 1, Santorum 1, Pataki, Graham

Winning Iowa will boost Cruz in New Hampshire. he doesn’t have to win in New Hampshire, just finish a strong second. Then, it’s a real 2-man race heading into South Carolina. The inevitability of Trump would be broken and he could very easily lose to Cruz.

Don’t why why you’re trying to convince me (yourself). Limbaugh and Todd said Cruz is closing in on Trump, take it up with them.

Yep. They will jump on to the winner when they know there is no other clear choice, and then wheedle their way into positions of power pushing out the true conservatives like they did in Reagan’s second term.

[... Trump’s treacherous and classless attack on Cruz’s eligibility.]

Please, you people are getting pathetic with this constant butt-hurt crap.

Rush likened it to an “Anita Hill” attack— I thought her attack was “treacherous and classless”, also.

You proud of your hero????

There isn’t one. Cruz isn’t threatening Trump in any state including Texas except Iowa.

If the media can get Cruz across the finish line they will turn on him and it will be a blood bath.
Cruz will go down in flames to Hillary because In the general election, cruise will get zero liberal or moderate votes. Cruz is hated by everyone other than conservative voters. The polls that show cruz beating Hillary make no sense.

We’ve know for a long time that the uniparty would rally to Cruz to stop Trump, this is not news.

“The polls that show cruz beating Hillary make no sense.”

Those polls reflect only that the press has not opened up on him. Cruz people should be having sleepless nights from the fact that the attacks have not come yet.

Trump has had months of being accused of everything from rape, antisemitism, fraud, lying about his wealth, racism, xenophobia, mocking the disabled, supporting dictators, sexism, infidelity, and even more! They know they cant dent him, they are plum out of ammo.

“that is the reason for Trump’s treacherous and classless attack on Cruz’s eligibility.”

Actually, I think Trump really did do Cruz a favor by brining up the eligibility issue, and I’m a Cruz supporter (though I don’t think the world would end if Trump prevails). better to deal with this now than 6 months from now.

Bsides, voters aren’t looking for perfect anymore, they are looking for effective. So how Ted deals with this is more important than crossing some invisible T’s on eligibility. It’s down to hardball.
