As Hillary Clinton and her surrogates scour the country for mega-donors, the one left-leaning billionaire they are not approaching is the one who knows the first couple more intimately than any of the others.
Ron Burkle figures that over the years, he's raised about $10 million for the Clintons at his sprawling Beverly Hills estate. After Bill Clinton left the White House, he and Burkle jetted around the world in an unconventional partnership that netted the former president about $15 million and Burkle entree into the palaces and offices of world dignitaries. For years, when Clinton dropped into Los Angeles, he would only stay at "Ronnie's" place, Greenacres, once owned by silent film star Harold Lloyd. Clinton was fond of the home and its history.
So what's Burkle done for the Clintons lately? Nothing.
"They never asked me for a penny," he said of Hillary Clinton's campaign during a rare interview in his West Hollywood office that touched on his dim outlook toward Hillary as a candidate, Bill's post-presidential role with Burkle's investment firm and what, exactly, happened on those plane rides.
The festering weirdness between the California billionaire and the Clintons might have drifted out of sight but for Burkle's decision to start raising campaign funds for a candidate other than Hillary Clinton. He's co-hosting a fundraiser this month for Republican John Kasich at Soho House in West Hollywood.

He’s trying to sell his hockey team, which is having a rotten season. He’s going to keep his head down till that deal gets done.
He should be hounded just like the Koch brothers.
Maybe even identified as an accessory after the fact re intimidation of BJ’s victims.
See ? He's fundraising for Kay Sick. It's not like he abandoned the left.
But ..........the Clinton’s GOT their $10,000,000!!
One has to ask, what do Kasich and Clinton have in common, that would make them equally worthy and eligible for the millions Mr Fat Cat raises for them?
The answer, Both Clintons and Kasich have made it clear that given the money, they will perform in a way consistent with the donors wishes.
This provides the single most powerful lesson for we, “the little people” from this election cycle. The donor class are the puppet masters, the candidates are their marionettes, we are the dupes.
Donald Trump speaks and acts the way he does, because he is not being manipulated by a donor class. He has thrown back the curtain on the entire staged production and naturally all of those who have rehearsed so long, and invested so much, are mortified at the prospect of their theatrics being revealed.

I'm sure Ron Burkle KNOWS Kasich can't win... so Burkle’s BIG gift to Hillary is to pay a Republican to damage the front runner and the choice of the people - Donald Trump.
John Kasich might be the jerk of the century..
A pox on John Kasich... if this is what's happening he needs to be driven OUT of the party.
