SHANGHAI: Trading was halted for 15 minutes on China's stock markets on Thursday (Jan 7) morning after shares fell more than five per cent, triggering an automatic "circuit breaker".
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slumped 5.45 per cent, or 183.14 points, to 3,178.70.

It’s just a guess but I have been wondering about 2016. Kinda a Captain Obvious, I know, but I’m sure the DNC and the GOPe have more dirty tricks up their sleeves.

The good news is, mathematically, even infinitely repeated 5% reductions NEVER quite reduce the remainder to zero !

What has Trump been saying about the great Chinese markets and how to deal with China?
The smart ones started moving their money out of China a couple of years ago. They have been paying cash for homes around Gay Frisco, Monterey, Newport, Santa Barbara and San Diego for close to two years.
Many of those with any cash on hand will be buying American stocks.

Just another indication Obama will not leave office. If that happens hopefully Trump will lead a rebellion.

We all know that the solution was to deleverage debt. We all know all we did was add far more debt. This ends in a deflationary collapse, just nobody knows when. 2016 could be as bad as 2008 if they can’t continue to prop up all that outstanding debt.
I thought things would collapse in 2006 and I was 2 years early on that call. I always underestimate the ability of the Fed Gov to keep the plates spinning on the sticks and delay their crash all over the kitchen floor. There are a lot more plates spinning up there today than in 2008.

They did learn from the past mistakes. They developed the remarkable ability to delay the inevitable. Their ability to keep so many plates spinning is amazing.
