I didn’t think Trump supporters could get more vehement and passionate than they already were, but I should have known Trump hinting at Cruz birtherism would do it.
Here’s Ann Coulter today:
NYT: Cruz was born outside the U.S. to 1 American parent: "Under the Constitution this makes him a 'natural born citizen.'" Absolutely false — Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) January 6, 2016 |
Same lawyers who said anchor babies are in the Constitution now tell us being born outside U.S to 1 American parent = natural born citizen. — Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) January 6, 2016 |
But as some are pointing out on Twitter, that’s not what she said in 2013:
TED CRUZ CAN RUN FOR PRESIDENT! I worried on @seanhannity @ his Calgary birth, But his mother was a US citizen, so he was born a citizen. — Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) February 14, 2013 |
Still, other Trump supporters are running to her defense, like the illustrious A.J. Delgado:
Never in @AnnCoulter's tweets did she say Cruz is ineligible. She said NYT (!) was wrong for declaring he DEF is eligible "under Const." — A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) January 6, 2016 |
Am I the only one capable of reading? — A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) January 6, 2016 |
What Coulter was saying is NYT's "he DEF qualifies under Const" was wrong bc, the truth is, no one knows the true def/it isn't settled law. — A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) January 6, 2016 |
So, yes, the NYT is wrong and, no, Coulter never said today that Cruz is ineligible (nor did Trump). Sorry to ruin your gloating moment! — A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) January 6, 2016 |
@DavidJMatza Even IF she were to say that, why would that be a contradiction? To have changed her mind once she researched it further?? — A.J. Delgado (@AJDelgado13) January 6, 2016 |
I dunno. Coulter makes it very clear she doesn’t think Cruz is a naturally born citizen, thus not eligible:
.@SenTedCruz gave a good answer on immigration. Too bad he's not a natural born citizen! — Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) August 7, 2015 |
Now usually, in the world of reality and logic and reason and stuff, saying one thing and then saying the opposite means you’re contradicting yourself. But I guess I’m not as smart and classy and as A.J. Delgado and all the other Trump supporters.
And if you want to hear the other side of the issue, check out Mark Levin’s position here.
Great pic.
I wish I knew why he voted for TPP, but it’s my obligation to read up on it.
Thank god i will hopefully never have to confront a frothing at the mouth Cruz supporter.
Coulter is a liberal that torpedos conservatives and writes books to get their money simultaneously.
Everything I need to know about her is she beds down with Bill Maher.
Thats bad enough. But drooling Romney support to this day shows what garbage she it.
I used to like Ann Coulter. I stuck with her through many scandals. No more. She lost me a long time ago. The thing that pushed it to 100% negative was the comment about Jews during an early debate. Now she wants to the mob connected candidate.
Anchor babies of illegals are US citizens and can run for President in US. They are natural born citizen. Am I right.
Actually the Maher rumor is false. I don’t like her, but that one is false. She dated a Muslim for awhile. That is true.
Don’t expect a lot of consistency from the Romney/Christie fangurl.

The “original” SR511 definition of NBC ( http://www.leahy.senate.gov/press/the-introduction-of-a-senate-resolution ) signed by Obama, Clinton, Leahy, Coburn, Webb and McCaskill and verified by Chertoff, states very plainly that NBC means born in the USA of two US citizen parents. The SR511 that Congress vetted McCain with ( https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/110/sres511/text ) is a watered down version but still states TWO US CITIZENS.
There is a reason Leahy has kept the original version on his website all these years.

Don’t hold your breath, looks like Cruz is going the Obama route
“At present, all FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests filed in search of any U.S. citizenship documents to confirm the true official U.S. citizenship status of Ted Cruz have been denied access. All citizenship records for Ted Cruz are sealed unless and until Ted Cruz agrees to allow any such records to be released by either U.S. or Canadian agencies.”

At the tail end of the article 6 paragraphs before the end.

Looks like Ann fell off the wagon again.
:sigh:
Uhh,no.
The writer of the 14th Amendment, John Bingham, said the 14th had no bearing on the requirements for President.
And the 14th Amendment does not change those requirements.
Anchor babies is a term that is only 33 years old--coming out of a minority opinion by Justice William O. Douglas, Supreme Court, in 1982 and does not have the force of law.
Babies of illegals are subject to the jurisdiction of the country of their parents, not the USA.
Get your fact straight, will you? TPP is not up for a vote yet.
Jeez, Ann’s credibility still hadn’t recovered from the last presidential election.
No one has voted on TPP so please do your research.
She’s just following Trump’s lead. First it’s an issue...then it’s not...now it is again.
“But I guess I’m not as smart and classy and as A.J. Delgado and all the other Trump supporters.”
When Trump’s liberalism comes out, Trumpbots attack the messenger, ignore it, reinterpret, deny the existence of conservative principals, or make excuses. When total garbage comes out about Cruz, long time conservatives defend him, but the Trumpbots double down. This is now what characterizes FR: the articles that get posted more than any others and the individual posts are of the nature mentioned above. That’s what FR is now: A place where Trump supporters can use lies to trash a real conservative and defend the liberalism of their lying charlatan.
I think the real lesson is that this is a topic that doesn’t lend itself well to being discussed with a 140 character limit.
