The Reason to Believe Donald Trump Will Lose

...Trump supporters are at best only nominally tethered to the political process. According to those pollsters shrewd enough to ask, few have voted in a general election and fewer still have participated in nomination contests.

The election day toll of this dynamic is already evident in those surveys with respondent controls that screen out all previous non-voters or those who have self-identified as very like to vote this year.

In polls that measure sentiment simply of registered Republicans, Mr. Trump leads the field in most national and state surveys, like Quinnipiac University’s snapshot of Iowa last month. But in those surveys with stricter respondent screens, like those employed by the Des Moines Register, which weeded out respondents who had not previously caucused, Trump trails by double digits.

The old “that horde of rubes is too stupid and lazy to actually vote” assumption. Chord by both the leftwing press and even here on FR.

Can’t imagine they felt like this in 2008.

And all those “hoops” turn out to be ephemeral and probably only holographic projections anyway.

The Donald does not “jump” through these hoops. He just blows right through them and emerges on the other side unscathed and polling even higher than he had before. God bless Political Correctness, it has given The Donald some of his most persuasive talking points, by demolishing them one by one for the hoax and fraud each of them are.

Did you make that up?

Oh, they will grasp at any straw possible...hoping against hope that this is not true and that someone like Trump could not possibly win.

He is so uncultured to them...so brash.

Hehehe...they thought and said the same things about Ronald Regan and he ended up wiping the floor with them twice.

I would not be surprised to see the same thing happen again.

“Trump supporters are at best only nominally tethered to the political process.”

That’s why 80% of Trump supporters are committed to the man, and not planning on changing their vote.

Another example of mental masturbation by the press and pundits.

The best example of late is Charles Krauthammer. He says the fact that Trump won’t tell us specifically how he will get rid of ISIS, or remove illegals from the country, or balance the budget etc. is because he doesn’t have a clue how he’ll do that.

What a crock.

We’ll know well before November. If Trump gets his voters to the polls to take the nomination, I assume they will come out for the general election too.

Despite all evidence, the media is desperate to convince everyone that this time is JUST LIKE all of the others.

It’s a consensus approach - just like so-called “global warming”.

I’m a Cruz man, but this article makes idiotic assumptions. For starters, the winner is the one who gets the votes of those that are not political junkies. Add to that the fact that most of the people I know who like trump ARE politically savvy and I firmly beli3’ve that if he gets the nomination he will win.

I've listened to Trump time and again. I'm still uneasy bout the guy. Just a few dayz ago, pulled up his live stream from Buloxi rally and again Sean Hannity a night or so ago.

The guy just parrots the same rhetoric over and over. I I I, Me me me, I'm great, your stupid, big, beautiful, great, wonderful...over and over.

I've heard NO substance. Just soundbites.

Agree with your sentiments completely.

Trump is also filling to overflow every venue he holds his rallies at.

The media, Democrats and the GOPe think were absolute idiots. This will be their undoing.

What’s “Time”? Didn’t they used to be a magazine, or something?

Time is actually a song by the Alan Parsons Project.

It’s a valid concern. But Romney wouldn’t fight.

Trump will fight. He already has Hillary afraid of him.

One of my favorite moments so far is when he is at one of the rallies and says

“I’m gonna bomb the shit out of them. I don’t care” as he shrugs when talking about ISIS. It’s in that video I posted. That speaks to the people who are just fed up.

Perhaps the Time article makes some valid points, or should I say points that would be valid in another situation. Hundreds of thousands of people who take the time to stand in the cold for hours to wait to see Mr. Trump will not miss going to the polls. I have never seen so many people so enthusiastic about a candidate. I went to the Reagan rallies and never saw this.

People are tired of their country slipping away from them. We thought Jimmy Carter was the worst president in the countries history but he pales in comparison to Obama’s stupidity or evilness. I think Trump will be a blowout.

I don’t want to hear Trump tell me now what he would do then. Why would I? However, I would want to know what he did after he’s been successful, whatever it ends up being. Even then, some of what happens could end up as classified information and as far as I’m concerned, it might just be none of my business.
