Republican presidential candidate Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says that no one who has ever run for president knows more about fixing immigration in the United States than he does.
In a New Hampshire town hall meeting, the Florida Senator argued that he was not a supporter of amnesty â even though his immigration bill proposed by the Senate âGang of Eightâ offered illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.
âNo one who has ever run for president understands this issue personally better than I do and thatâs why I can tell you and you should tell your friends that no one running for president is better prepared to fix it than me,â he said in response to a voter who asked Rubio how voters would ever trust him on immigration because of his âsoftâ reputation on the issue.
Rubio grew increasingly passionate as he discussed the issue which has nagged him on the campaign trail as he has tried to emphasize his conservative credentials. During his speech he reminded the audience that he and his wifeâs family were all immigrants and grew up in an immigrant community which made him more qualified to address the issue.
âI understand this issue personally, I understand the good, the bad, and the ugly, and every aspect of it,â he said.
âI donât support amnesty,â he added. âThere has to be real consequences for violating our immigration laws, so if you are a criminal you going to be immediately deported ⦠if you violated our immigration laws there will be a substantial consequences for having done so.â

Emissaries of their father, the devil...
'Hey John, Marco is good at the b.s. isn't he?'
But, but, but he’s had a conversion. He sees the error of his ways. He doesn’t believe in amnesty anymore especially since it translates into single digits.
Hey Marco, then go return all of the millions of dollars you got from the amnesty whores in business. Let’s see how heartfelt this conversion is.
They don't believe in amnesty. They don't believe in amnesty. They don't believe in amnesty. It's like some magical inverse Wizard of Oz scene.
Oh, never mind, that was fantasy too.
Marco is not to be trusted on immigration!
I don't see why not. Chuckie Schumer trusts him.
Give it a rest "Marco the Rube."
[Man do I want to watch the Sons of Liberty. But a long way from blue-ray]
I’ve been a fellow Rubio basher. Starting to feel sorry for him so tossing out a bone:
[2014] Senators to Obama: Do Something About Hong Kong

“A bipartisan group of senators from across the political spectrumâfrom Elizabeth Warren and Patrick J. Leahy to Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio — wants President Barack Obama to speak out and act to support Hong Kongâs democracy movement...”
Oh, they BELIEVE in amnesty, but they are politicians (lawyers, but I repeat myself) and use PC/2x-speak/bloviation to CALL it anything BUT amnesty, to hide their true intentions.
Depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is.
Amnesty Boy thinks amnesty is the only solution to the illegal alien inundation.
Attrition through enforcement works everywhere it has been tried.
Young Yeb! is as bad as Yeb! on this issue, even if he is a better liar.
Marco is a politician. Therefore, we need to carefully parse the words "fix it".
To whom does "Fix it" apply? The illegal? Why yes - that's my interpretation. He means to fix the immigration system for the illegal, not for the citizen.
Yes, Rubio will “fix” this problem by legalizing illegal immigrants. See how simple that is? Using his so-called reasoning, we can also do away with all crime overnight by redefining any criminal act as legal by fiat.
