Close to the southern tip of Texas a border wall suddenly ends. Its final post sits in a dry cornfield half a mile from the nearest bend in the Rio Grande river, the actual border with Mexico.
It would be easy to walk around it. Tires left by the border patrol rest nearby. Agents drag them behind trucks to smooth the cracked earth and check for footprints.
Unlike other famous barriers in history such as the Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China, the U.S. version is not much of a wall. What stands in Texas is fragmented series of fencing, composed of enormous steel bars embedded in concrete close together. The rust-colored thick bars that must reach a height of 18 feet loom over the landscape, forming teeth-like slats that split farmland, slice through backyards, and sever parks and nature preserves.

If a wall is built, the illegals need to be deported else we are keeping them IN this country.
Has Cruz even thought of that, with his ‘We’ll build a wall first, then discuss what to do with the illegals here’ scenario? And being unable to say ‘deport’ and ‘not intending’ to give them legal status - all adds up to walling the illegals in!
Policies could easily make a controlled southern border a diode in function for illegals.
They wanted to build more dams and didn't want the first one to get in the way of more due to malfunction.

i would modify that concept and apply it to the wall.
a wall of lead and brass is infinitely more effective and a lot cheaper than concrete or steel
Some eastern European country threw up an effective fence in about 2 weeks.

It is interesting what you can build and the quality of the product if you use Americans, American materials and American pride to build it.
Today you couldn’t get the idea of building the Hoover Dam from thought to drawing because of the EPA, BLM, California Coastal Commission, INS etc. However we can build a high speed rail in the desert. No problem. Talk about a give away program.

Start at one end, put ICE in front so as the illegals move in front of the fence, you have people there to take them into custody. Pay ranchers to let the construction crews bivouac on their property.
