Recent inflammatory comments by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump -- including a plan to ban Muslims from entering the United States -- caused the British to propose one of their own: Banning Trump from entering in the United Kingdom.
The petition titled "Block Donald J. Trump from UK entry" has garnered enough signatures to elicit a response from the British government. The petition claims that the UK has banned "many individuals for hate speech" -- and thus Trump should be banned for the same reason.
As of Thursday, the petition has roughly 566,110 signatures and counting and according to the official website, at 100,00 signatures, the parliament must debate this petition.
A debate will be set in 22 days, according to the website. Until then, the UK government has issued a statement. It reads:
The Government has a policy of not routinely commenting on individual immigration or exclusion cases. For good reasons the Government does not routinely comment on individual immigration and exclusion decisions. The Home Secretary may exclude a non-European Economic Area national from the UK if she considers their presence in the UK to be non-conducive to the public good. The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right and she will continue to use the powers available to prevent from entering the UK those who seek to harm our society and who do not share our basic values. Exclusion powers are very serious and are not used lightly. The Home Secretary will use these powers when justified and based on all available evidence. The Prime Minister has made clear that he completely disagrees with Donald Trump's remarks. The Home Secretary has said that Donald Trump's remarks in relation to Muslims are divisive, unhelpful and wrong...

What if Trump's elected President???
I wonder what the market value of a crumbling empire is these days.
I'll check Zillow.
A proper response for a Dhimmi.
President Trump will get back the bust of Churchill for the Oval Office. Bet on it.
That has paid huge dividends.
Not one single report of Michael Savage beheading a British soldier in broad daylight. Not one single incidence of Michael Savage going around threatening gays with violence. Not one incidence of Michael Savage kidnapping and raping women or selling them as sex slaves.
The UK has been known to ban any who speaks truth about the Mooselimbs...
I am willing to bet a hell of a lot of the British people agree with Trump but don’t get heard
Getting involved in the domestic politics of the US is not a wise policy for the UK.
“We think it is wrong to ban someone that is different from you. So we are going to ban someone who is different from us.”
There are going to be ALOT people of eating crow when Trump is elected President!
“The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right”
Unless you are a Muslim bent on destroying British society.
I think UK should just go ahead and convert to Sharia and execute any Christians left. Its the only politically correct thing to do.
This craven, feckless British government also banned Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer for daring to expose the truth about Islam.
Yes, and notice the rank hypocrisy in this statement:
“The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right...”
...which is Trump’s whole point about not allowing disruptive Muslims to enter the U.S.!

As his ambassador to the Court of Saint James? What a hoot that would be.
"The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right..."
...which is Trump's whole point about not allowing disruptive Muslims to enter the U.S.!
Like our government, the current British government is contemptible.
We traveled to the UK/Europe, earlier this year.
Trump was liked by at least half of the folks we met and talked politics to. They wish they had a Trump, fighting for them, as well.
Yes they do. Look at the Daily Mail posts on this story...
