Bush is on record as saying he doesn’t like Cruz. He hasn’t even said that about anyone else, including Obama. The reason is Cruz beat him at the Supreme Court: Texas vs. Medellin.

Exactly right and what Ted said is very much Bush-like. Bush was beaten to a pulp and never uttered a word in defense.
