Donald Trump called into Fox & Friends this morning and had some critical comments about the Benghazi hearings.
Trump was discussing Trey Gowdy, the chair of the Benghazi Special Committee, because of his reported endorsement of Marco Rubio this week. He retweeted some harsh attacks on Gowdy today.
When asked about Gowdy joining Rubio on Fox & Friends, Trump said, "I hope he does a better job than he did, frankly, in the Benghazi hearings, because they were a total disaster."

That is difficult to say since they're not over.
The Bengahzi hearings were never going anywhere.
The top Congressional leaders, including Republicans, signed off on the CIA gun-running operation. They were in just as deep as Hillary and President Obama.
And Gowdy is aligned with the Congressional leadership.
Someone who doesn’t think Congressional committees are game show contests that are won or lost based on individual performances before the camera.
“”So what’s the end result of the Benghazi hearings? Haven’t heard much, but I guess I didn’t expect to. Impossible to nail a Democrat.””
I do not believe they are over YET but people are sure trashing him for not doing the job...It’s almost like they are accusing him of bungling the job on purpose. I don’t believe that’s true and I still believe we’ll see something come out of them. As far as I know, there has never been a final report on the committee hearings so let’s give the guy some credit. The committee was formed to look into Benghazi and that’s what they’ve been doing. For those who like to complain, I would recommend they try sitting on a committee with the likes of the democrats there jamming up the works every chance they get.
The disaster for our country is the Clinton crime family who are getting away with murder..literally.
THAT’S the point
Trump is correct. Gowdy is a total fraud. All talk and absolutely no action. He was always running his mouth about how tough he was going to be and he got Hillary for one day and she high fived it on the way out. Gowdy is another establishment hack.
“”That is difficult to say since they’re not over. “”
That’s what I’ve said....it’s like calling a game before the 9th inning has finished. The work of the committee is not done!!!!!
“to screw the American people since the hearings resulted in nothing but speeches.”
That is the way it has been for years. The hearings during Clinton was the exact same thing.
They all get up there and scream and pound their chests and make a big show out of it. At 5 pm they all go to the same party and laugh about screwing us.
I hope Trump or Cruz goes in there scorched Earth on the whole cabal.
They were ‘over’ as soon as Issa’s clone, Gowdy, was seated.
It should have been obvious to most when the FOIA requests were pulling more/deeper ‘secrets’ than the committee
It should have 2x-obvious with the questions presented to Cankles. No ‘where were YOU’, ‘how many times did you talk to the pResident? What were those times’, ‘Where WAS the pResident?’, ‘Who gave the stand-down order?’, etc.
No, just the typical D.C. “I scratch your back and hope you do the same to mine, if/when the time comes”
Talking Gowdy.
Unfortunately, that’s all he is.
ZERO representation is worse for the country. Criminals roaming throughout CONgre$$, the executive branch and in the multitudes of agencies/departments.
This current government is the most evil representation we have had in our history.
“You would use the law to oppose socialism? But it is upon the law that socialism itself relies. Socialists desire to practice legal plunder, not illegal plunder. Socialists, like all other monopolists, desire to make the law their own weapon. And when once the law is on the side of socialism, how can it be used against socialism? For when plunder is abetted by the law, it does not fear your courts, your gendarmes, and your prisons. Rather, it may call upon them for help.” - Socialism Is Legal Plunder; The Law; Frederic Bastiat
I have wondered for sometime if Gowdy was being pressured by the GOP-e to go lightly on Hillary. Especially since the Minority co-leader of the committee was badgering him all the time .. and it was quite annoying.
No proof; but they know he’s retiring at the end of this term. This way, when he’s gone, the GOP-e can claim that it was a witch-hunt by Gowdy, and there was nothing really there. [ONLY THE DEATH OF 4 AMERICANS]
I came to this conclusion when Gowdy endorsed Rubio and not Cruz (as I would have expected he would do). I guess I had Gowdy all wrong .. it’s bothering me.
Having a "GOP" guy like Trey "probing the matter" and ending up being pretty much ineffectual is the disaster he's talking about. It gets our hopes up and then we end up with headaches wondering why nobody does more than talk big on our side.
