The Hispanics who can vote are CITIZENS—not illegals. Don’t you think that millions of Hispanic citizens are fed up with illegals running over their neighborhoods, trashing the place, spray painting gang signs all over the place, selling drugs, living twenty to an apartment and undercutting wages for those Hispanics who have been here for many years? Hispanics get a secret ballot like everyone else. When they get to the polling booth, they will vote for what is best for THEM and not what is best for LaRaza. People come here to better their lives and to give their children better opportunities not to go back to a Tijuana north of the border.
I do think that there are a lot of Americans - citizens, naturalized citizens, and legal immigrants - who are upset about illegal immigration. But I also think that as many, if not more, are more worried about being harassed by the cops because they “look” illegal, about being arrested and held without charges because they “look” illegal, and I think this is a real worry for citizens because we don’t have national ID papers and it’s the rare citizen who carries around her or his birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or valid US passport, as proof of status as a citizen.
As with everything else, it becomes a choice of the lesser of two evils, and living with illegal aliens who get away with it to some degree is the much lesser evil to being the victim of roving bands of bounty hunters looking for illegal aliens.
