Well this is the Obama version of a Pope in charge of screwing things up here.
“And the angel said to them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL people.”
I was a practicing Catholic before this guy. I could not however, in good conscience, continue to follow a religion who's head routinely espouses behaviors diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Bible.
The Inquistion, let's begin
The Inquistion, look out sin
We have a mission to convert the Jews (Jew ja Jew ja Jew ja Jews)
So according to Francis we should remove Acts 1:8 from the Bible, right?
I am RC. And I deplore prosthelytizing by any religion. My ultimate hatred of prosthelytizing is, of course, directed at the Muzzies who will decapitate you for failure to buy their halal baloney. And this will most likely end in a 21st century Crusade (and soon I hope).
Yeah, Jesus would have shown political correctness, too, right? /s
Let’s restrain ourselves from sharing God’s Love and withhold the Living Word and Water from God’s chosen people! /s

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
It depends on what is meant by “try”.Neither Jews nor Christians should *force* the other to convert. That’s pretty obvious. But friendly persuasion....
Jews are in need of Jesus as much as anyone else.
If the Vatican is saying otherwise it is preaching ‘another Gospel.’
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timnthy 2:5
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! Galatians 1:8
What does this poseur “pope” know about Christianity?
The basic point of the Vatican document was that Catholic proselytization of the Jews should be no different than Catholic proselytization of any other religious group.
Why shouldn’t we try to convert the apostates in the Vatican?
The Statement makes a logical argument.
"The covenant that God has offered Israel is irrevocable...
Since God has never revoked his covenant with his people Israel, there cannot be different paths or approaches to God's salvation.
This is an interesting point to consider, but ponders other questions. Should Christian not convert Jews willing to accept Jesus? Does Paul's warning for believers not to marry non believer not apply to Jews? Does this apply to Jews that have studied the new testament and rejected Christ or only to Jews ignorant to who Jesus is and his claims.
