What you’ve said is what I was thinking when I said she took one for the team. Weiner is a useless loser now, but at the time, he looked like a controllable political asset.

Of course, the big asset for Huma to influence is Hillary, although one would expect (and perhaps hope) that she is influence-able, but not as controllable as Weiner looked to be.

Weiner is a useless loser now, but at the time, he looked like a controllable political asset.

Remember too that at the time, Weiner was considered one of the most likely to be the next mayor of NYC. He'd be much more valuable to the Islamists there than as a congressman. Imagine all the police terrorist threat intelligence that Weiner (and Huma) would have access to if Weiner had achieved that goal. Still, I don't know if things are much better now with a commie like DeBlasio as NYC mayor.
