I (sort of) agree with you.
Cruz is not the other competitors. He has a solid base of support among those who are supporting him, as does Donald.
I just think this poll is overstating Cruz’s support. I will agree though, it is more solid than his other competitors.
(how’s that?)

No problem. Even if it is an outlier, a definite trend is showing. When he's at 9%, he could be anywhere from 3% to 15%. At 24%, we know he is at least 18%. He is still showing upward mobility. Trump has been gracious, framing the debate as a match between these two, and the GOP-E cannot come up with an alternative scenario that people will buy. Rubio going pro-NSA before Iowa was strategically foolish.

I've said all along, that Trump totally trashing the other candidates wasn't going to endear their supporters to Trump when their candidates began to falter or leave the race. This poll could either be an outlier or reflecting that fact.

My take: I support Cruz and give him what little money I have, the first candidate ever for me.
But if he does not make it, I will vote for Trump.
I will take either, but I give to Cruz.
So a vote for either, is a vote for both, in a way.
