The debate fiasco has him scared. Why is he campaigning?

Because he doesn’t want Trump’s common sense to sway public opinion, stopping Obama from continuing to weaken America in the time he has left.

Malignant Narcissism is a serious Personality Disorder. One component is a pathological need to at all times be the center of attention. This campaign cycle is indescribably torturous for Obama. Save for a series of stinging criticisms (from the R candidates), he has been sidelined. Trump is soaking up the lion’s share of the attention. For a MN, this is like living death.
So he will try to commandeer the spotlight from time to time. If that doesn’t work, he’ll up the ante.
Barring the unknown-except-by-God, we have a very long and trying year ahead.
