Yes, about Idi Amin who took over when the white people ceded power from the countries they called Rhodesia. Now Zimbabwe. He still lives and seems indestructible. The only real currency really trusted is American one dollar bills. Not the 40,000 Zimbabwe dollar bill.
Your mention of a film sparked my memory on just the nicest little film about Scotland. It was called "Local Hero". Burt Lancaster starred. It was about a big oil company that wanted to buy a small Scottish coastal village. The idea was that the village would be changed for ever. One of those rare movies that made one feel good.
Excuse my ramble.
And a great soundtrack from Mark Knopfler.
Actually, though i’m 47, I like movies with Burt, Betty Davis, Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Humphey Bogart, John Wayne of course...and alot more of that generation’s actors.
Davis is my favorite.
I shall look it up and see if i can’t get it on the computer to watch. Thanks.
He’s still alive?!?! geez.
My post badly mistaken by similarity between two dictators.
I believe it is Robert Mugabe who took over Rhodesia. He still thrives elsewhere.
Amin was Uganda. And he is dead.
