See, that's the thing. I chose this thread to make fun of other people's "Amish" comments. You can call it trolling, I suppose . . . but also a direct commentary on a portion of FR culture that I dislike.

I won't even try to backtrack the dispute that I stumbled on. I just will chime in here in agreement. It was funny, in an ironic way the first 5,000,000 times it was posted. After that it got boring, trite and even made me feel sorry that a FReeper believed that it added to the conversation.

Hey...toots or tootetts! The “Amish” thing was never supposed to be funny...get it? It was about attacking the the whole hyper PC you can’t profile any race, social group, or sexual preference except those on the approved leftist lists such as Christians, whites, conservatives, red necks ect...

So the term “Amish” is used in derision when the media won’t describe the characteristics of the perpetrators of the crimes committed. They do so out of some fear they would be seen as perpetuating racist stereotypes....never mind that the perpetrators seem to be doing a good job of doing that themselves.
At some point the AADL will make complaints..(the Amish anti-defamation league) and a new term will be chosen to describe what the left has deemed non-describable...perhaps “Canadians” might be an excellent choice!

Wnen I was waiter in college (mid 80’s) we even used the term Amish or Canadian to describe people of a certain hue who were historically PIMAs and bad tippers.

What I mean is how was the guy able to kill 13 and wound 30? I’m not making this an Army vs. Marine thing but I can’t imagine a whole room full of Marines allowing this to happen. We were taught to charge the ambush(gunmen) with anything we had. These reason being is your screwed anyway so what do you have to lose? Attack!!
