Even better when the "FFL" is abolished. The Gun Control Act (1968) is a gross violation of the Constitution, and an import from the Third Reich.
Shout that from the rooftops, m’am. Please wake those kids up.
Yep, handsome design, but sort of like driving a 4 cylinder Mustang. .32 is just too small in that size platform today. You can get 9mm that size. But I do get your point - it is a work of art. There is a reason I always liked P08 Lugers. Also works of art.
What does the mason dixon line have to do with anything aside from being the southern border of Pa....it was a Union state no?? By the MD standard, a third of NJ is south of the line too. I just do not see NJ or MD as part of the South.
Totally agree. I’ve been “nothing but” a housewife for over 30 years, and wouldn’t trade it for anything, as long as my economic input wasn’t necessary, and I mean for necessities, not Disney vacations.
The girls (and boys) in my large and extended family are raised to know, and they do. We just pray it sticks (homeschooling helps). My brother’s three girls were taught by their father to hunt deer with the guys, their mother taught them to cook it, and the men stand when the chairs won’t go around :)
Here is another good reason:
TENNESSEE has NO INCOME TAX.
Housing is very reasonable.
Workmen’s comp rates are sensible.
I had a friend who moved from Paso Robles, Calif to Tennessee. HIS workmen’s comp rates for a machine shop in Calif were over 50% & his rate in Tennessee was under 10%.
He bought 31 acres with a 3 acre lake, a 3000 sq ft cedar house with a 2 car garage for under $300,000. His property taxes were $840 annually. He needed to build a large shop. Had to pay $100 for the permit for the septic tank that serviced the shop.
Tennessee has alot to offer. They don’t run a state budget deficit, either. They only buy what they have money for. I don’t know if they float bonds, but they are very frugal. Many reasons why my friend moved there.
Any well balanced man or woman should be capable of every step along the way.
That said, it is Mrs. Joe's kitchen, she just gives me the run of it from time to time. (8^D)
Not all of the kids and grand kids (just most) like or own firearms, but they all know how to use them.
Alas, it is difficult in a disrespectful age, where the most basic of manners are seldom seen in media and less in life, to impart basic courtesy, but we are unflinching in the attempt, and successful more often than not.
My ancestry goes back to colonial times there. While Maryland used to be touted as "America in Miniature" because of the geographic diversity in the state, Southern Maryland was very definitely Southern. Considering the movement of Northern Militias provoked rioting in Baltimore (with businessman and dock worker alike prying up cobblestones to hurl at the invaders) I'd say they were fairly Southern in the Northern part of the State as well. Maryland in the Civil War Chapter IV Marylanders Enlist, and Organize to Defend Virginia and the Confederacy .
That may be the case but the theme of my comment concerned the southern states in the war between the states. I don’t recall Md being one of those states.
Thanks though for the history of Md and its sympathies. It is something of which I was not aware.
A simple strategic matter, really, and a shame that is being wiped from the history books. That was to prevent the Federal District from being surrounded by Southern Turf, and to deny the Potomac, Wicomico, Patuxent, and a host of other estuaries along the Chesapeake from being in Southern hands--along with the shipbuilding capabilities there.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Yes. Even with certain tax breaks, they “get” you for doing well with investments. We get hit pretty hard every April. And sales tax is pretty high, which I don’t mind too much as it can be seen as a user fee.
I’m afraid I’m not optimistic of that ever happening - though it should.....
