A Washington watchdog group says it has identified a second official in the Obama administration whose family history includes an investigation by the federal government into communist activities.
Judicial Watch posted a report Friday that said Jeh Johnson, the secretary of Homeland Security, confirmed in a recent news conference that his grandfather appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee in the 1940s.
Judicial Watch said the FBI previously disclosed that "the dad, maternal grandpa and father-in-law of President Obama's trusted senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett, were hardcore Communists under investigation by the U.S. government."
Johnson's family history is relevant, Judicial Watch said, "because, although Islamic terrorists keep attacking America, the cabinet official responsible for the nation's safety has vowed to protect Muslims from the type of persecution he says his grandpa suffered under McCarthyism in the 1940s."

Has anyone in the public sphere any understand of how insidious propaganda is at taking over a country from inside? It’s being done today; it was done in Nazi Germany, it was done in Cold War Germany, and it works better and cheaper than war.
There were communists, not just in ideology but in Soviet (our enemy) allegiance, in the 1950s in Hollywood (and elsewhere) who were attempting to turn public opinion to favor our enemies over us. This is treason. They wrapped themselves in the cloak of “art” and their fellows genuflected.
There is more overt blacklisting (possibly a contradiction term) today in Hollywood. You will out and out not work if you are a proud conservative, with very few exceptions. And the people crying for Dalton Trumbo are 100% ok with not allowing conservatives to earn a living in the industry.
Communist sympathizers in the 1950s were then as closely aligned with our enemy as ISIS sympathizers are today. And while the ISIS sympathizers alone can do some harm, kill a few dozen people at one go, the big commie movie makers can influence GENERATIONS to turn against their own Constitution meant to guarantee true freedom to everyone.
You tell me which sympathizer is more dangerous.

Homeland Security seeks $41.2 billion budget for 2016

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced a $41.2 billion budget request Monday for the 2016 fiscal year.
The budget would improve the unity of effort at the department, Johnson said, focusing on harmonizing DHS business processes. Along with the budget, a new Common Appropriations Structure was also submitted to Congress, which would standardize financial planning, programming and budgets for all DH agencies, Johnson said.
There are five areas the department focuses on each year, and the budget is in alignment with those five missions, Johnson said.
<><> The first mission is to prevent terrorism and enhance security in the country by implementing security for the land, air and at sea.
<><> The next mission is to secure and manage the countrys borders, and reduce the number of illegal immigrants and amount of contraband getting into the United States.
<><> The third mission includes enforcing and administering immigration laws and providing safe and secure detention of illegal immigrants in federal custody if they are a flight risk or a public safety concern.
<><> The fourth mission deals with safeguarding and securing cyberspace, which impacts economic security. The 2016 budget would invest in technology and staff to reduce cybercrime and improve the security of federal network defenses.
<><> The fifth mission, Johnson said, is to strengthen national preparedness and resilience so the country can prepare and respond to any type of disaster.
Johnson said before Congress approves any funding for the next fiscal year lawmakers should approve funding for the current year.
The Presidents FY 2016 Budget provides the resources necessary for the Department of Homeland Security to further strengthen our efforts to fulfill our wide-ranging missions, while also being agile and vigilant in the face of ever-evolving threats and recent world events, Johnson said. But prior to acting on the FY 2016 Budget, I urge Congress to fully fund DHS for the rest of this fiscal year, as the current continuing resolution is disruptive, creates uncertainty, and impedes efficient resource planning and execution.
