Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz took time on Saturday to wish Cher a Merry Christmas, even after the legendary singer offered the Texas senator a less Christian holiday message.
Earlier on Thursday, Cher said on Twitter to her nearly 3 million followers, "As Judas was to Jesus, so is Ted Cruz to America. Read what he's written and watched what he's said, for years. He ALWAYS TERRIFIED ME."
In response, Cruz wrote back to Cher, "Cher, thanks for the kind sentiments. And I wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year."
Cher often airs out her political thoughts on Twitter, usually to criticize Republicans.
In October, she called Cruz "devil" and said his GOP rival Marco Rubio has "rage against women."
She said, however, that Donald Trump is "a giant among GOP frontrunners."
Cruz, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, is currently polling nationally a distant second to Trump, according to RealClearPolitics.
Cher has been on a down slope glide ever since Sonny died in an accident...
I always love it when some of the most despicable people toss the Christian insult as if they have a grounds to do so. If she did, she would take a pass on this one.
What has Cruz done that measures up to betraying Jesus Christ?

She's a puppet, a self aggrandizing hypocrite. She's precocious and ignorant. Her own self worth and image in the eyes of her equivalent peers are the only thing she cares about. She exists in a finite bubble of ignorance, a cone of contrived platitudes in a fantasy world of unicorns. She exists in a coffin of utopia, a sheltered and posh existence where she must invent and create her own problems and challenges to overcome in triumphant glory. She is insecure, a clown, a jester. She has contributed nothing to society beyond an occasional distraction for productive Americans, on their time, as they see fit. If she never existed, nobody would know any better and no lives, companies or efforts would be worse off. Does that adequately describe most of the liberal Holywierd elite?
