The wife and I have been raging over that stupid commercial for a while now. The analysis is spot-on.
Saw that commercial today. Absolutely HATED it.
I think Ms. Steinem is gonna need some salve for that burn, Talisker...that was epic!
me likey ! !
In a way it becomes funny, because according to TV ads, black men have half of the impotence, half of the hemorrhoids, half the constipation, and half of the bladder control problems in the country.
Well, that explains Al Sharpton.
Mommy is a bitch!
BTW, why isn't "dad" driving his son to football practice in the first place?
Unless there's some special reason for my wife to do it, I do ALL of the driving, period.
My Mother, RIP, was a simple person, yet very astute to the trends she saw unfolding in her life. She noted to me many years ago how at one time in television the mother and father figures were revered and respected (a la Father Knows Best), but eventually came to be mocked and ridiculed. I have seen that trend continue for decades now, though I’ve placed a self-imposed moratorium on most multimedia for the better part of the last 3 years. It really is the downfall of Rome when it comes to our case.
So sorry for your loss.
You better shape up
Because you need a man
And my heart is set on you.

As old as time, the battle of the sexes.
Per TV and movies, the judiciary is one hundred percent black. The medical profession fifty percent.
It follows from this that the smartest people in the world are little black girls
the ne that gets me going is the Fidelity ad where the white male voices ‘This is Lilly Baker and some day she’ll take over the world’ and a little black girl looks up and stares into the camera...
I hate, and Imean hate, outright pandering...
So in order to prove that women are better drivers she needs to use a man’s voice. How ironic...
What a warm, friendly, caring, and pleasant wife and Mom.
I was ready to watch the game last night, and that malarkey came on the screen and I started bitching long and loud...but of course my wife thinks I’m reading ‘way too much’ into such things...
If one looks at the commercials, T.V., billboards, whatever, one would think that this country is half black,
to say nothing of the theme that all male doctors, dentists, and financial planners are black, with white clientele, and...
the ony other doctors, dentists, and financial planners in the country are females, black and white...
classic
Nothing new. Commercials have been mocking men for at least two decades.
In movies and TV, my wife and I are amazed at the sass they sling. Such outbursts by any of our kids would have been met with an unpleasant reinforcement of lessons they'd already been taught.
Saturday Night Live illustrates the trend toward demoralization quite vividly.
It's the only Tee Vee I'm aware of that spans the 70's to present - targeted at the culture of plastic youth.
The process of desensitization began "innocently" with Cone Heads & Samurai Senator John Blutarski... and today is a direct feed from the sewer pipe.
No way the present generation of emasculated sociopaths coud've won WWII, and that was by design.
