Republican and conservative are not the same. Didn't really realize that till 2008 when McCain was anointed nominee, but conservatism in the Republican Party actually died when Reagan left office.

Enough masks slipped between 2010 and 2012 that I am not surprised by any individuals, but I am surprised by the scope of it all. With the exception of the early Gingrich House, I think it is objective to say the GOP has not brought one good thing to the table since Reagan, and has been an active accomplice with the Democrats many times over.
