Former Vice President Dick Cheney condemned GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

In an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Cheney said the plan, which Trump announced Monday, “goes against everything we stand for and believe in.”

“I mean, religious freedom has been a very important part of our history and where we came from,” he added.

Cheney said that there is a “serious problem” when it comes to refugees from Syria and other countries in ensuring they don’t “represent ISIS.

“You’ve got to set up a vetting process—and that’s crucial,” he said.

Attack Trump for a position he didn't state.

His written statement says:

"Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States..."

What are they misrepresenting?

Cheney spoke to GOPe talk show host Hugh Hewitt on Salem Radio and said it, not to Time Magazine.

Don’t try to blame the MSM for repeating what Cheney told the RSM (RINO Stream Media).

Cheney admits we need a viable vetting process for people coming in from Syria and other (Middle East, primarily) countries. So what would he suggest be done while a viable vetting process is put in place? Bring them all out to the Cheney ranch and set up tents while they wait? suspension of entry to those people sounds reasonable, one would think. So now, what exactly is cheney’s objection to Trump’s plan?

Cheney’s long been pro-open borders and pro-fag marriage. Anyone who holds either of those views can go to hell for all I care.

Cheney there is no vetting process. It is a joke. In the meantime, what would you propose since it is a fact that ISIS is in the pack of refuges. Want more in or would you prefer stopping until we get a better system. What the hell happened to your brain?

This photo of Hillary that appeared:

... and knowing how tone deaf she is and how lousy her timing is...

Combined with Trump's call for a moratorium on muslim immigration...

Tells me Trump is correct to call for it now and will be well received by voters.

Hey Dick, we stand for securing our borders and not getting slaughtered in the streets by Muslim jihadis. I could care less about anything else...Trump is right on this one.

Let’s be clear here.Trump want’s to stop the importation of muslim refugees that Obummer wants to bring in at taxpayers expense.First of all, if they have not arrived yet, they have no constitutional rights, that only happens when they step off the plane. This country has no responsibility to bring in refugees at taxpayers expense, none and I think it is the taxpayer who has the final word, not some bureaucrat sucking on the government teat.

Dick Cheney is ‘conservative’ because the MSM gave him that label in the past.

The Cheney I remember as a teenager was the Chief of Staff to the Communist appeasing RINO President Gerald Ford who was called on his foreign policy directed by Henry Kissinger by Aleksandr Solzehnitsyn, Jesse Helms and Ronald Reagan.

Now Cheney and the insiders want to appease the Saudis, Gulf Arabs and other terrorist supporting nations for business and economic reasons.

So, Cheney, we have to drastically change the way we import these people -- but not pause the broken system?

Tool.

We are awash in hypocrisy, straw men and red herrings.

“I have been to all 57 states. ONE MORE TO GO.”

Now, what did he mean by that?

WE are to be the 58th.

I was encouraged to study comparative US-Islamic jurisprudence. I had thought it would be for those countries to incorporate our ethos into their countries.

It’s the reverse, folks.

When the Ikhwan, the OIC, ISNA, CAIR and the BIGGEST Islamic heavyweights came out with a nighttime presser-read, play to the Arab street-after the San Bernadino incident, AND Lynch followed hard with ‘prosecuting hateful speech that ‘tends’ toward violence,’ AND the US President has a nighttime presser that speaks to American Muslim co-workers, in addition to guns as a national security issue (more to come on that, me thinks)...only the blind could not see what is happening in real time.

excuse me Dick as much as I respect you Mr Cheneysurely you should understand by now that Islam is a murder, mayhem, and martyrdom cult. Not a religion. Muslim are cult members, no matter what sect of Islam they come from

The Chinese Exclusion Act was a United States federal law signed by President Chester A. Arthur on May 6, 1882. It was one of the most significant restrictions on free immigration in US history, prohibiting all immigration of Chinese laborers. The act followed the Angell Treaty of 1880, a set of revisions to the US-China Burlingame Treaty of 1868 that allowed the US to suspend Chinese immigration. The act was initially intended to last for 10 years, but was renewed in 1892 and made permanent in 1902. The Chinese Exclusion Act was the first law implemented to prevent a specific ethnic group from immigrating to the United States. It was repealed by the Magnuson Act on December 17, 1943.
