And that was the Rangers’ experience with “diversity”. Just as women can’t play line in the NFL, it’s a fact that women can’t ruck march with men in combat.
Sure, there are places for women in combat—but not in infantry, recon, SEALs, etc.

I think it would only “normalize” women in the military in the minds of the sheep.
I am afraid it will be like it was in construction when those jobs opened up to women in the 1970s due to discrimination lawsuits; while it was a novel job most of the women that wanted to do it were in no way capable. That changed when the novelty wore off and I knew several women that were qualified that became equipment operators especially. I worry that when combat roles open up the women least likely to be able to perform will be the first to want combat MOS. Not sure why it happened that way but I was working as a bookkeeper for a large construction company and watched as that unfolded.

This is an excellent point. The VA now is discovering that women are far more likely to be worn out physically and permanently damaged because of excess loads. They are by and large not made for heavy labor, whether it is infantry, artillery, framing, roofing, firefighting, etc.
Bob Dornan was always trying to get those figures. I know the pregnancy figure is quite high. I was next to an AIT unit that once graduated 17 out of 17 girls pregnant.
I don’t understand why! Israeli defence forces are successful as they have recognized that women are different from men. From what I have heard from my Finnish friends the constant complain is that their army pretends women are just the same, but always long marches end with men having to carry womens gear.
That will be all those women not captured and made into sex slaves and all of the men who were forced to depend on the women to survive combat ...

Anywhere it has been tried it hasn’t worked. Even if you find one strong woman who can carry a heavy pack as far as men do it means she has to do nothing else but train all day.
My Finnish friend told me a story about the two women in his regiment. They were supposedly equal, but they weren’t. Men act differently and during the survival marches it always ended up that men took their packs and carried these in addition to their own.
Carter would love an all spit-and-polish military - every one is equal, except women who are pregnant, PMSed, or generally-in-a-very-bad-mood-over-something-no-one-can-figure-out-short-of-mind-reading. Everyone else will have to pick up the paper shuffling shortfall - get over it.
