Ted Cruz Won’t Rule Out Legalization for 11 Million in U.S. Illegally

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz declined to close the door to a potential pathway to legal status for the 11 million people in the U.S. illegally Friday, saying he wouldn’t elaborate on his plans for them until after the border is secure.

Seeking to carve out a space between real estate mogul Donald Trump, who is calling for the forcible deportation of those in the U.S. illegally, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who co-authored the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill that included a pathway to citizenship, Cruz would not explicitly rule out a pathway to legal status for the undocumented.

It’s also a two week old article that has been published on FR previously.

There are direct quotes of Cruz in that article.

Cruz has never refuted or protested.

There are multiple sources available on the web that clarify Cruz' position on the legalization of illegals...for those who have simple curiosity.

"he has always been against a pathway to citizenship, while recognizing that we must secure the border first."

Great.

But we want to know what he would advocate on the disposition of those here now illegally.

And all who have eyes can see what that is.

"......"I am the only one on that debate stage who has never supported amnesty, and indeed who led the fight against the Gang of Eight massive amnesty plan that President Obama and Chuck Schumer and establishment Republicans pushed," [Cruz] added."

This is patently false.

Trump has NEVER supported amnesty and has a lengthy chapter about it in his book, "Time to Get Tough; Making America #1 Again", published in 2011.

It was false when Cruz said it and it is false today with you repeating it.

That statement about Cruz and illegal immigration is quite complete. It does say he will deport criminals.

I couldn't find anything in it where he says he will deport ALL invaders! There's also nothing about eliminating H1B Visas and hiring qualified US citizens instead.

When is Senator Cruz going to SAY, in a speech, interview, or debate LOUD AND CLEAR that he supports Donald Trump on stopping the invasion of the US? Position papers by pols are too often ignored once they get in office; people he wants to vote for him have to know loud and clear he will end the invasion of the US and that includes sending home invaders.

I think it is fair to expect an answer before we vote.

How many times have we heard “we will have a conversation” after the fact?

That would require more trust than I am willing to give ANY nominee at this point.

2013, huh?

Check out the link to his immigration plan provided upthread. You'll have all the information you need.

Meanwhile:

Trump says foreigners who come to the U.S.to study should be able to stay here:

Trump says we have to strengthen our borders first, and we can talk about the rest later:

Trump says we have to do something "with heart" with the illegal families already here, says he isn't showing his "compassionate" side because "he wouldn't be doing as well in the polls":

Trump called Romney "maniacal", "mean-spirited", and "hostile toward people of color" on immigration; said at least the Democrats were kind to illegals; and claimed we needed a "comprehensive solution" to deal with immigrants who want to be "wonderful, productive citizens":

How much do corporate and payroll taxes add to your bottom line for products? Those taxes are hidden as well. It is the same concept.

No, not really. People do know at least half of what is taken out on payroll taxes—and strongly object to increases.

The practical, real-world experience suggests that VATs combined with income taxes lead to high-tax, slow-growth economies.

As you state, there needs be only ONE thing done to solve 99% of the ‘issues’ our country faces, such as illegal immigration:

Turn off, rip out, burn then salt the Earth when it comes to the Welfare State; which would include the illegal Ponzi scheme known as Social Security.

THEN comes the enforcement of current Law (whom SHOULD be protecting, ensuring and enforcing). Biometric database of all lawbreakers and LONG, HARD LABOR prison sentences for those that continue to flout our ‘welcome, and enjoy your stay’ ideals and theft of identity.

Employers are NOT the subjects of the Fed and, IMO, E-verify is just another burden upon biz and a way to deflect from the true source of the problem: GOVT. Course, I, for one, believe govt has no place in ‘min. wage’, ‘healthcare’ or crony Capitalism either, so they should rise/fall on their own.

State/Fed employees/mayors/governors, all should be given LONG, HARD LABOR time in prison for any ‘sanctuary city’/aiding/abetting as well (more so than the illegals). States should be able to go after those at the Fed. level and vice-versa (enough of the ‘just-us’ Justice Dept. or ‘blue wall’ ideals where one hand washes the other).

The wall, though now needed, IMO, to protect against the Muslim ideology, would still be required, and manned/gunned. Just how ‘extensive’....

Still, Mr. Cruz is trying to have it both ways. I, for one, am quite tired of the political correctness, political parsing and political promises (that never materialize). No more ‘I tried’ and more of ‘I did’ by actually DRAINING that swamp, talking to the people and showing where/how the hurdles lie.
