Born in 1948, Hillary claims she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary who, on 29 May 1953, with Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

You have a problem with her parents not wanting to name her for 5 years until the itinerant sheep farmer scaled Everest? Huh?

Me? A problem? NOPE! I got no problem. Truth is they did not name her until she was 6 and went to school. Until then they called her “git.”
