Though I don’t know if his parent or family will sue, that is always a risk.

Under what legal theory could the relatives of the burglar possible sue anyone? I realize we live in an age of insanity, but I cannot imagine any legitimate basis for a lawsuit.

They’ll sue and get plenty. You just can’t kill someone....especially when they’re defenseless.

“Legal theory”, well there is no real standard they could sue over. However, they could try a civil case stating that the owners should have covered the chimney with something to keep “kids” from fall into them.
