Pennsylvania (St. Clair Twp) Police Officer Killed in Line of Duty

Officer Lloyd Reed died at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown after responding to a call for a domestic dispute at 131 Ligonier Street around 9:15 p.m., authorities said. Officer Reed had been in law enforcement for 25 years and had been with the St. Clair township department for five years.

This is just awful...small, rural area. Domestic calls are most dangerous, but you don’t expect this in a small place like New Florence, Pa.

I doubt they know at this point in the investigation. When backup arrived they found the officer down and the house on fire.

Police Officer Lloyd Reed was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call at a home at 131 Ligonier Street, in New Florence.

He was fatally shot by the subject as he arrived at the location. Despite being wounded, Officer Reed was able to return fire and wounded the subject. The man fled the scene but was arrested by members of the Pennsylvania State Police approximately six hours later suffering a gunshot wound in the shoulder.

Officer Reed was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Officer Reed had served with the St. Clair Township Police Department for five years and had served in law enforcement for a total of 25 years.

Usually I would of heard this call but grandkids have control of the computer thus I don’t hear calls. Indiana county 912 had the fire call listed. This is so terrible.
