The aging of Californiaâs baby-boom generation and changes in the stateâs economic dynamics are creating a workforce skills gap.
Thatâs the phrase used by the Public Policy Institute of California in one of its several reports on a looming shortage of workers with the education and/or skills that a post-industrial, technology-heavy economy requires.

Scarcely 10 percent of Californiaâs Latinos have college degrees now, up from 7 percent in 1990, and itâs expected to rise to 12 percent by 2020.
So the whole open borders thing is not working out as well as expected.

or it’s just another angle to import those with the “skill set” for far cheaper.

A look at the current CA K-12’s ed performance is looking at a snapshot of CA’s future. These kids are supposed to grow up and replace us boomers, become doctors, scientist, etc.

A few weeks ago, The Sacramento Bee published a lengthy article that examined how graduates of Sacramento-area high schools were being prepared for college. It revealed that graduates of schools in poor and/or non-white neighborhoods routinely require extensive remedial schooling after enrolling in college
I don't understand this. Either you are ready for college or not. Has college in California turned into adult day care.

I believe the whole labor model has been completely altered. There is a large percentage of the population who have nothing of value to offer society. Partly that is because of broken schools, partly because of broken families, partly because of broken cultures, and partly because more jobs today require a decent IQ whereas in the past people with low IQs could still find a fair amount of work.
Many reasons. But the bottom line is that a large percentage of the population have nothing of value to offer society. And we haven't figured out what to do with those people yet. Currently, we send them a check every month and we hope that they just sit on a couch and stare at an electronic box of one sort or another.

I agree that government charity increases the problem, so, yes, I do want to cut out the checks. But my overall point is that there is no "work". You can't just say, "No more checks -- go be a software engineer" or "Go work at Starbucks" or "Go sell real estate".
It's not clear to me that these people can offer anything.

More sex education in elementary schools is the obvious answer.

The only possible way to employ them would be to cut out welfare payments and rescind minimum wage laws. Most of these people are stupid, but they're not unintelligent, if you know what I mean. If conditions are right, they could be trained and made useful.

Yep. Kids have been told by parents that college brainwashing is much better than working 30 years in some plant. These kids lack critical skills needed.

That’s all this is.
The answer will always be the same: WE NEED more third worlders, No matter what.
More Asians and Indians to be the overclass, more Mexicans and Africans to be the underclass.
You will never hear the foreigners in Sacramento talk about encouraging higher birth rates among Americans or enabling real working families to be able to raise more children easily. Lets not count the baby factories in south central LA tasked with producing more permanent welfare cases so that the Rat party has a base - Jerry’s Kids!
Nope . This has two prongs: 1) Get mo’ cheap labor and 2) Keep gettin’ rid of whitey.
What’s not to like, at least from their viewpoint? Can you imagine them giving up their countries to foreigners?
To: Steely Tom
There is no education in California schools. Common Core has been established. Bilingual and bi-cultural curriculum. No high school exit exam.
To: ClearCase_guy
Reduce government by 75% to its constitutional level and there will be plenty of jobs.
