They're not happy in Syria. They're not happy in Lebanon. They're not happy in Gaza. They're not happy in Egypt. They're not happy in Libya. They're not happy in Morocco. They're not happy in Iran. They're not happy in Iraq. They're not happy in Yemen. They're not happy in Afghanistan. They're not happy in Pakistan. They're not happy in Somalia.

SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?

Where are they happy? Probably no where.

WHERE ARE THEY HAPPIER? Probably under a severe dictator, like Khadafi, Assad, or Sadam. No nation building for them. Treat them like dogs, and they will be happier. Put them in a democracy, and they will be fifth columnists.

That thought occurred to me back in the '80s when I worked in Kuwait.

On my time off I'd wander about Kuwait City, stopping at the roadside cafes and having a shwarmer (pita wrap filled with lamb) and a bottle of water. I'd check out the passing scene and noticed that where there were traffic lights, the movement was orderly. Where there weren't any, it was dog-eat-dog and chaos.

It hit me then that these people, despite the trappings of the Western World, NEEDED to be ordered about or it was a mess. There have been many times back in the States, where there weren't any lights, maybe just four-way stop signs, there was no problem and on some occasions, police direction only made the problem worse.
