The suspect accused of killing three people in an attack on a Planned Parenthood in Colorado was once a happy father and art dealer who painted and listened to rock music, a report has revealed. Robert Dear, 57, who allegedly burst into the clinic in Colorado Springs on Friday and opened fire, was a recluse who moved to a remote cabin in the state a year ago, his neighbors have told Daily Mail Online. But a new report by the New York Times has revealed that Dear was once a happily married family man who lived with his wife and son in South Carolina. Since his 2000 divorce, Dear seems to have declined into a loner who lives in a remote cabin, seeking bondage and sadomasochistic sex online and smoking marijuana.

Can you show numbers of this? Where is your proof?

The stats I have read in the past actually contradict what you just said. There have been several Freepers who have posted articles stating just the opposite. The last one I read showed counties with CCWs and those without. Those without had higher crime rates.

My opinion is the same regarding the booze especially in light of the millions of babies killed by policies advocated by the Kennedy family politicians! You spend money on an illegal product that people are being butchered over to get it into your hands then you are part of the problem as well! That is the moral correlation....now go wash the spots off, wife of Macbeth!

That’s what I said. Maybe I used a double negative :)

If I stated it wrong, I apologize.

Do you believe that certain movies, TV, music and video games are kindling for violent behavior?
**********
The US military uses violent shooter video games to train soldiers to be unthinking and reactionary when in shooting situations.

“Marijauna is not known for inciting people to kill.”

But, it does draw out those tendencies...just like alcohol.

Pot helps. There was another incident recently in Denver of a guy who killed his wife while she was on the phone with 911 after heavy pot use. Enough of it can lead to psychotic episodes. It is not the benign drug a lot of people seem to think it is.

I find it rather disturbing that while I’m viewing a CONSERVATIVE website where an article mentions pot use of a criminal - just how MANY get all offended and jump to the defense of .... Pot.

I think it’s just sad.

It’s the drug talking. Libertarians are not conservatives and vice versa. There is much overlap and many differences too.

A buddy of mine bought two condos in Vail just so he could go there and smoke weed with his son. We can see it affecting his behaviors ear the last two years.

Link to Bernie Sanders blaming Republicans:

Never let a crisis go to waste. I hate people who do this kind of thing.

Like the people here blaming pot.

This piece also states that none of the casualtes were PP workers or patients.

How odd.

Something doesn’t make sense.

It is an unnoticed issue that drug use could have, and probably did, play a significant role in some of the most terrible violent crimes of the past year or so.

Alcohol, I suspect, was a factor in some of them

What policy conclusions, if any, should we draw from the involvement of alcohol and other drugs?

Psychiatric drugs and/or past illicit drug use are most likely the #1 external cause for these types of actions. The internal cause is like you said a moral deficiency.

You're making sense.

As are the people who make a desired product illegal and thus inflate the profits and restrict them to criminal hands.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud disagrees with you. He and his fellow murders had a favorite drug, it was pot.

This is a time for the left & right to stop this incessant political party blame game!

This wasn't done based on party ideology!

This was a Climate-Induced Psychological Break, brought on by man-made global warming, capitalism & greed.
